Hello friends for new beginings. I wanted to ask if there was a good web site to go for recipes for casseroles. I am on the soft diet, stage 3 and I would really like some ideas for this. Also, when you are out with friends at a resturant, what do you order? Someone said just soups. Another person told me that mashed beans at Taco Bell was on our diet and has plenty of protein. Any menu ideas for resturants? I know at this stage we are just wasting our money there but it is still tough when you are with family and friends. Thanks so much for all your help! Crystal

Crystal,

At Taco Bell's you can eat their chilli - although you won't be able to eat much of it... I used to buy that and a baked potatoe - it used to last me for 3 meals lol! When in a restaurant you can order soup - non creamy - or some mashed potatoes - although that is not always the best choice - while on the soft diet I used to eat before I went out and just drink water with friends... it seemed a waste of money  for anything else....... As for casseroles - I have no great ideas - I buy the slow cooker herb/spices pack and then just throw everything in it I can think of of have to hand - they usually come out good and my husband eats them without complaining - I just do potatoes, rice or pasta for him and my son but not for me......... Good luck and keeo us posted. on how you are doing...... Jackie..

Is this Crystal aka Bonny's sister? Congrats on your surgery!  There is a girl named Michelle who writes a blog....and comes up with some delicious recipes. Her web site is http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/ I also use : http://allrecipes.com/Recipes/Main-Dish/Slow-Cooker/Main.asp x www.kraftfoods.com Then there's this recipe: Ingredients:

1 small carton of egg beaters
1 cup low fat monteray jack cheese
4 oz of ham diced
2 oz onion chopped
2 oz green pepper chopped
1 cup broccoli tops chopped
salt and pepper, garlic powder to taste

Nuke the veggies with some water in the microwave for a couple mins first then mix all together and pour into a muffin pan that has been sprayed with pam.  Bake for 30 mins.  They can be frozen and nice for "protein meals on the go".

Calories 72, protein 9, carbs 2, fats 3 per muffin.

And I have one for cottage cheese pancakes. They are soooo yummy.

Thank you so much. I am making some print outs of your recipes. I was able to eat the pinto beans and cheese at Taco Bell last night. For some reason, I just cannot tolerate anything with tomatoes in it right now. I think it may be the acid? I am already so limited on my diet anyway because I have been allergic to beef and pork for years. That sort of limits your protein. Thurs I can start on regular foods but I know I have to do it one at a time. I have been so afraid to throw up since my surgery. All I heard about was how they had to go back in and sew over every staple so that would kind of freak you out. Do you mind sharing the cottage cheese pancake recipe? I  wouldn't mind trying that one. I detest cottage cheese but if you cooking it in a pancake.....hey, what could be wrong with that? Thanks for all your help, you are a inspiration. Congrats on your weight loss. So far I am down 20lbs so I hope to catch up with the rest of you soon. Hugs, Crystal.....(poetrylover4u)
