Moving on! It's a new day!

Good morning everyone!  I hope this finds you all with your heads clear and ready for a new day.  I know I'm definately ready to get back to the business at hand.  Helping each other and helping ourselves.  :) Kat, can't wait to get your morning hello... Jill, what's the new inspiration today... Does anyone have any milestones to share or goals they need help with? Today, I'm very excited to report that I FINALLY received my new protein (Nectar Natural Orange).  It took nearly a week to get here, and I'm so looking forward to a change in flavor.  I'd had it with the Roadside Lemonade.  :)  I've pretty much been surviving on the stuff since it was the only thing I could get down.  The Nectar Natural Orange is about as close to an orange drink (like tang) that I have found.  It has a lighter, not so sweet flavor. I also got some liquid calcium to try.  I have no idea how it will go down, but figure I can suffer through one tablespoon better than the 4 big pills.  HOORAH!! Have a great day!  I'll check in around lunch as usual.

Good morning Lauren, It is gonna be a beautiful day today. I do the calcium chews. Love them cuz they are chocolate flavor and Wal Mart has a SF brand. I take 2 a day and have not had any issues with my blood work. Protein.......did you try the bullets a little at a time? Just wondering how that worked out for you. Have a great day.

Do you know if the chews are calcium citrate?  I think I remembered looking and they didn't specify. You know after you reminded me again abou teh tip for the bullets I went looking and they are MIA.  It's the weirdest thing,  I had a whole box of the buggers!  We did move around some supplies in the laundry room when we had the water heater replaced.  I'm guessing I threw them in a box and now don't remember where they are.  I have to put finding the bullets again on the to do list.  :)

You really ought to make sure that they're citrate and not carbonate -- I know because I hate taking the horse pills too (almost 2 years out, guess this will never change at this point ) and I spent a lot of time getting excited to see the varying flavors of calcium chews at the Target, Wal-Mart, etc, only to find out that they are ALL (Spring Valley, Viactiv, etc) calcium CARBONATE. BAH.  To add insult to injury, it was rumored (not sure if it is true or not) that the ONLY calcium citrate chew, which are Citracal's Creamy Bites, have been discontinued because Citracal sold their name or something to Bayer, and Bayer doesn't want to go to the trouble of making them anymore. I still have half a box left, I will try to see if I can find any after those are gone, but if not, it's back to the wafers. I kind of like them, it's almost like chewing a gigantic Spree or smartie or something.  At least that's what I tell myself. NOW -- I know that we are to take the citrate because it absorbs BETTER, but does the carbonate absorb at all, or is it just pointless? Maybe if you doubled up on the carbonate, it would still suffice. I don't know, I prefer to just go the citrate route and have it done with. Good luck.

I can confirm the rumor - they have discontinued them so buy all you can while you can get them!! You really should not double up on the carbonate - we no longer have the stomach juices to absorb it - and excess carbonate can lead kidney stones etc - so I was told early on........... Good to see you - how are you? Jackie

Good morning Lauren!!  Glad you found something different.  I may have to try those calcium chewables.  Do they have Vit D.  I am still having a hard time getting my vitamin D to stay where it is supposed to.  I have to take 4 of those horse pills each day...yuck.   Anna

Good am Corinn,  I am going to look for these cause I sincerely discussed this at my 5 year as well but I have been taking Caltrate 600 + D Chewable (Cherry, Orange & Fruit Punch) & lets be serious I honestly know no one who actually enjoys chewing chalk I don't care HOW you try & spiffy it up!  The supplement facts are the same as what you've listed above - 400 IU of Vitamin D & I also chew 2 per day. So, let's be serious here if I can chew something that tastes like chocolate AND its healthy AND I am getting in the daily requirement you best believe I wanna!  THANKS!

Have you tried just adding a Vitamin D supplement? You can find small Vitamin D everywhere. I know that the Vitamin Shoppe even sells little tiny (these things are smaller than a new pencil eraser) 2000mg Vitamin D softgels. I was taking 2 of those a day, and not doing too badly. In fact, I was at one point bumped from 5000mg of Vit. D a day to 3000mg a day, but I still keep it at 4000mg each day just to be sure. They (vitamin shoppe, Safeway, etc) also have tablets that are fairly small too (the one I'm taking now is 1000mg, and the size is on par with a 500mg vitamin C).
