I am so sorry you are having such a tough time, but so glad you found out that you need to take care of all of this when you did!  It is irritating that things are as they are with the cost of medications ... they have us over a barrel, don't they?  We need them, they want us to use them, but they keep increasing the costs.  Crazy.  I am glad you have been able to work things out to make it more affordable.  While I was reading your post, I wondered about what Walmart has been advertising....$4 prescriptions...I have no idea how it works, but it might be worth looking into.  You obviously have a lot of people who care a lot about you!  Take care of yourself, and remember to make yourself a priority. Hugs, Cindy

Like you I had heard about it and now I know that if your doctor knows which script you need is on that they can write them and you pay 4.00 for each script and it does help. With some luck I will not have to change any of my meds and I will do what I can to keep it up.I have more friends than I knew that I had and I am very thankful for all of them. I am going to start putting myself first and then everyone else. Thank you for you support.

Oh my goodness Pat - 534 is way way way too high!! You need to get down to about 100 - you are in danger if you get any infections with your sugar levels at these levels,...... and they will surely not consider surgery if it is so way out of control. But I know you know all of these things and I am sure it was a shock to see the numbers in front of you like that.... At least you are now working to get the numbers down to an acceptable level - please please take care of your health - diabetes is one disease you do not mess about with..... after surgery you may not need to worry about diabetes again but before surgery you really do need to take care.... We are all routing for you Pat! You can do this! And stop scaring your daughters!! You have a very close loving family there - stick around for them!  And Stick around for us!! Jackie

Thank you Jackie. I realize now that I was wrong to quit my meds and will go the right way now and get better for muself.I want to stay around and I think that someone was trying to tell me you need to do something. I am starting to notice the difference in how I am feeling.  I will make this promise to everyone I will take care of myself and get everything back like it is suppose to be. I am glad to have my numbers back to under 300 but want to get to between 100-150 and stay there.

BIGGGGGG HUGGGGGS!  Make sure you take care of you!!!  I know when money is tight it is hard to plunk down big $$ for meds, but you just have to do it.  I'm so glad your doctors worked with you and are making it more manageable.

Here is a short list of the meds Walmart sells for $4 for a 30 day supply for diabetes... glimerpiride 1, 2, and 4 mg glyipizide 5, 10 mg glyburide 2.5, 5 mg glyburide micro 3, 6 mg metformin 500, 850, 1000, 500 ER mg Just call the walmart pharmacy and they can give you further information to see if your other meds are covered too, or if there are ones that you are on that can be switched to their lower cost generics.   Good luck and please take your meds!!!   You'll feel better!

Thank you they changed my meds so that I can get them at walmart. I am going to get the list of all the 4 prescripts that they sell and see if I can get some of my others there too.
