Mozarella.... Why is it bad for you?

So I was going over the things that were "solids" that I tried to eat with my surgeon and he said Mozarella was the worst possible thing to eat.... why?  What am I missing?  My nut (at his office) said to focus on solid protein, eggs, meat, fish, cheeses....

I have eaten mozzerella cheese since I could have solid foods. I enjoy both part-skim and whole-milk mozzerella without any problem and it's a good burst of protein for me. I don't know why your nut doesn't encoourage it and would be interested in their reasoning and other people's feedback.

I have eaten it too and was never told it was bad for me - maybe it has a high fat content but I usually eat it blended with another cheese... Jackie

No clue...I've eaten a cheese stick for a snack since day 1 of solids.  It's quick, easy and portable.  PLUS...you can get it made with 2% milk. You should have asked him why......

I eat lower fat (1-2%) cheese every day.  Don't know why your doc said it was "the worst possible thing to eat..."  I'd ask him/her!

I think he may have been kidding as he does have a "dry" or unique sense of humor, I"ll find out... and between me being anxious for the stupid procedure and stuff... I probably missed it... we'll see. Maybe because I was already ill and not keeping much down... and since mozzarella can get stringy... I don't know... go figure it was probably a joke :)
