In Recovery, So to Speak
Hi, all! As you've heard from Tink, we had a great time in NOLA. Emeril's NOLA Restaurant was truly amazing; I've never been to a place quite like that. The parades were fun, the crowds overwhelming, the food super, and (most) of the people were friendly. I have been there about 10 times before, but never during Mardi Gras. I must say that I prefer it NOT during the celebration. My tattoo is of a Mardi Gras mask--mostly purple with some green and gold. I'll post a pic when I learn how! It's my 2nd tat--I got the first one down there too--a small fleur de lis. It hurt, but I'm glad I got it. We also bought some lovely jewelry while down there, which I will always treasure. I LOVE that city. It has sooooooooooo much to offer besides Bourbon Street.
Since getting home yesterday morning, I have spent most of my time sleeping. Instead of taking NAPS, I seem to be taking AWAKES; I have truly slept four hours for every one hour awake. I thank my little body (98 lbs.) and the good Lord that with my medication I was able to do okay on the trip. My body is really trying to recouperate from all of the walking and sight-seeing. Our bodies and our minds are amazing things!
If you've never been to NOLA, you just might want to give it a try. It's NOT for everyone, but it IS for me!
Take care everybody!
With love,
JoAnn

Let the good times roll.............

I love NOLA, It has so much heart, culture and history... I visited pre Katrina. I hope that yuppyish nish if it comes to NOLA doesn't wash out the true heart and cutlure, food and history that makes it the big easy.
How are they coming along, the businesses etc? I hear that the 9th ward still needs a lot of help. my heart and prayers go out to those still stranded etc...
Glad you had a great time JoAnn.... :)
