What Are YOU Doing To Move Today???
I always eat a bit of carbs about 30 minutes before my workout....something like a chunk of banana with some peanut butter (cinnamon raisin is my fav) or some granola (I'm a granola addict).
During my workout, drink water.
Depending on the time of the day when I get my workout in will depend of what I eat afterwards. Recently, I've been have 1 or 2 Kashi crackers with peanut butter or a slice of cheese.
See a pattern here - small carbs with some protein.
I have never been a coffee drinker, so not sure if that's a problem, but I would suspect it would be, since my doc told me to stay away from caffine during the 1st year.
While in the losing phase (and up until recently****pt my carbs between 50 - 75 and protein between 115 - 130. This helped me get the weight off. Recently, my Nut. has had me increase my carbs to 100+ because I burn through 60+ carbs when doing a 3 mile run (90 carbs during a 4 mile run). That does not include my boxing or warm up. That's pure running).
Also, look at the type of carbs you are eating. I did not eat bread until recently and it has to be toasted and whole wheat/multi grain for me to eat it. You want good, complex, carbs. They will stay with you longer, provide more fiber, and better fuel the body.
Have fun!
