It does depend on the doctor and the insurance and also on your health. Everyone is different. When I went for my Nut and Psych I also had my EKG all within a week or so and then the only thing left was being put on the PRE OP waiting list...
Your on your way...I just got my date yesterday and my nerves have since subsided ( thanks to alot of prayer ) Im sure they will return closer to the surgery but for right now Im just excited!
It's all in god hands and the rest is up to me :)

If your doctor hasn't given you a checklist with all the tests you need to have, request one. Each person is different and each doctor has different requirements. I'm having surgery the 11th of March God willing, and had lots of prereq's to do. I have to have an EKG and Cardiac clearance from a cardiologist, gallbladder sonogram and chest xray, bloodwork, sleep study, colonoscopy and endoscopy, psych eval. As it turns out, though I didn't qualify for the split night study when I did my inital sleep study, I do have mild apnea and am recommended to get a cpap machine so I have to go back.
