Dr Elariny

I am in the midst of surgery scheduling with Dr E and I will have the VSG w/ band by the end of March. Alex is awesome!! - she got me approved within 24 hours of submitting to my insurance company. She called today and the first thing she said was "when do you want your surgery?" I was shocked!! Now I find myself getting nervous because it seems so real now!! Keep in touch wth me please!!

I keep waffling between the VSG w/band and just the lap band. I have to make a decision next week!  Alex IS wonderful. She's very clear about what you need to do.   Of course, Alex told me she couldn't schedule me for any other week other than the week of the 10th for the month of March, she told me he only does surgeries the first and second weeks of the month.  At any rate, we will definitely keep in touch.  Burke is so close to Alexandria!  It IS shockingly real isn't it? I'm petrified but also very excited and optimistic about the whole process.  I feel like I finally have a fighting chance for having and maintaining health.  

Yes we are close!! Did you hear about the option to get an adjustable band with the VSG? I am trying to decide if I want this option but don't seem to see too many people online who have heard of it.

Yes, there aren't too many people who have heard of it, and I even had one person on another forum pretty much pooh pooh me like "poor girl, you just don't know anything , do you?Nobody does that surgery."  I just let it go.  This is one of Dr. Elariny's surgeries that he is a pioneer in.  Not too many people DO this surgery.  The one you speak of is exactly the one I'm going back and forth between, the VSG w/lap band or just the lap band.  i'm leaning toward the VSG with lap band. Of course, that's another 1700 insurance won't pay,but for my health, any price seems cheap.
