I went for my nutrition, psych (funny...but I keep saying psychic by mistake), and blood work today. While I was there I visited Missy at the dr. office to see what was left. She said the only thing left was an EKG, so we were able to work that in today too. Missy said that's all... once all the test come back if everything looks okay, they will start working on a date. My insurance has already approved me. WOW!! I'm excited. I'm actually shocked it is going so fast. I just had my 1st appt. on Jan 22nd. It seems too good to be true. I hear stories on here of people waiting a long, long time.I feel very blessed. Thanks for listening, Penny

Congrats, Penny!  Things will probably go really fast from now on!  (It took me over a year to get my approval.  Yuck!) Take care, JoAnn

Congratulations Penny - my insurance did not require  6 month diet either so I had everything done and surgery all over in 6 weeks. However the previous year my insurance didn't cover it so I had to spend 8 months waiting until we tranferred insurances to my husband's....so I spent it learning everything I could about the surgery........ so you only have a short wait  try to read up on what to expect after surgery.......... I can understand that. I had to wait about 5 months just to get my 1st appt. I sent in my packet in September of last year and my 1st appt. was Jan 22. I have definitely been researching and reading ALOT. I am thankful for this board and all the post. Someone on this board recommended the book "Weight loss surgery for Dummies". I have read (most) of the book and it's been a help. Thanks, Penny

Good am Penny, Glad things are progressing nicely for you. Hopefully you'll have a date very soon. It seems like such a long road but its totally worth the travel. A wise man told me just last pm "Even a million mile walk starts with one step." He's TOTALLY right! All best....
