Oh how I can relate to this.  In 2005, I had to start giving myself shots.  I had to do 4 a day, every meal and at night.  Because of how bad my diabetes is, I had to take a u/500 insulin, which just means that it's concentrated, so I was taking 5 times as much.  It totalled 1000 units a day.  My stomach has what I call perma bruising.  Normally it doesn't hurt but there are the times that the pain sends me through the roof.   I can understand the flucuation of the sugar.  I had to go to classes too.  I was referred to the Diabetic Treatment Center, at St Mary's.  I LOVED that place.  It was the best thing I did.  Going there and learning what they teach you and listening, I was able to get my A1-C down from 12.9 to 9.3 in just 3 months.  I hope you learn all you need to and that you have success in it.  I am sorry about the situation with your father.  I will pray that peace finds you and of course, trust everything in the Lord!  My prayers are with you. Hugs, Theresa

Hang in there Iknow you are going through some trying times. But your in my thoughts and prayers and I know you will do well w/ the insulin, just remember to stay clear of the bad things you put in your body, to help bring that sugar down to normal. And Im sorry about your dad but at least you know he is getting  round the clock care and he will be ok. So you need to take some time for you now. Hang tough kiddo... Hugs.....

Hey Momma! Well, personally I think you'll be OFF these shots in a relatively short period of time. I think that there are changes to be made & you can CHOOSE to make them & get better & better. NOTHING worth having in Life is easy; its a struggle but its worth every tear, every moment of pain etc to get to the light at the end of the tunnel and it NOT be a freight train.  As for Gpa you know how I feel about the whole situation. He's getting the care & treatments he needs and telling him ANYTHING but the truth is not gonna work. I'm glad you stuck it to your step-mom cause instead of telling him "if you get better" how bout telling him the TRUTH you ARE getting better with eating, drinking, walking, talking etc GRRRRRR! I love you mom that's a fact & I just want you to take care of YOU! (*mirror just above computer monitor when typing this* ) HEART U -YOUR KID
