Low Fat food stuff
Some reciepes
Low-Fat Pigs in a Blanket
4 Ball Park Bunsize White Turkey Franks, cut in half
1 pkg Reduced Fat Cresent Rolls (I use the Wal-mart brand and they taste good)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray baking pan with non-stick cooking spray. Roll franks in cresent rolls starting at the small pointed end. Place in baking pan and bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. A good side with this is Bush baked beans. They are low in fat and most varieties are around 1 gram per serving. The Pigs in a Blanket contain 4 grams of fat each.
Tuna Salad
1 can of StarKist Light Tuna in Water
1/4 c of onion
2 boiled eggs whites
1 tsp. sweet pickle relish
Blend in a bowl and serve with your favorite low-fat, low-cal bread.
Low-Fat Meatballs
2lbs. of lean ground beef. (93/7 or better)
Onion and green pepper (told you I'm not good at measuring veggies)
1 egg
3 slices of low-fat, low cal bread crumbled
Mix ingredients in a bowl. You can add garlic powder or fresh garlic to taste. I use alot of pepper and a little salt. Roll into 2 inch balls and bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes or until juices are clear.
In a pot add:
1 bottle of ketchup
1/2 package of light brown sugar
salt and pepper to taste
1 teaspoon of mustard
Once this mixture has liquified add your cooked meatballs.
Each meat ball is around 8 grams of fat.
When cooking low-fat always look for lean meats without skin. Make sure your meals contain lots of your favorite vegetables and some fruit. Use reduced fat butters sparingly. (They are still high in fat.) I'll add more recipes when I get time. Happy Eating!
