I have a Blooms right across the street !  I'll check it out.  If they have it, I'll save a frustrating drive to TJ'S.  Thanks so much!

Well.....I learned two foreign words today......Fage and Blooms. Wondering, what is special about Fage yogurt, what is it and is Blooms a grocery store? Do they have any of these stores in Charlottesville? I know if you asked anyone in Lynchburg about Fage yogurt and Blooms they would look at you sideways. Just wondering about this. Thanks for the info, Crystal

Crystal don't worry! I had no idea what they were for a long time either.  They are a very thick Greek yoghurt - and unsweetened. Of course we all sweeten them up until they taste the way we like them lol!! They are very good for you but hard to get. Blooms may only have recently sold them there because they didn't up until a couple of weeks ago. I go to a Giant on Rt 17 to get mine right now and it is way out of my way. You can send them a note asking them on www.fageyogurt.com. But they are a very good source of protein and delicious if you mix them with Splenda and a spoonful of SF jello mix........... or friut in a blender..... Hope this helps! Jackie

Ok...not sure about Blooms - sounds like maybe a grocery store.

But Fage yogurt is great.  It's high in protein, and is low in calories.  It comes in plain flavor with a texture similiar to sour cream.

I like to add a little bit of Spelenda, fresh blueberries or strawberries and enjoy.  Or...a bit of sugar free honey (I know...odd, huh) and some chopped black walnuts.

But, you can do alot with it.  Add dill and chopped cucmber and dip grilled meat for a breadless gyro, or have it for a dessert like the greeks (honey and black walnuts).  It's very versitle. Look for it in your favorite grocery store in the yogurt aisle or in the aisle where there is packaged feta cheese and other cheeses.  Those are the two places I see it at in my local Krogers and Farm Fresh.  Trader Joes carries itin the yogurt aisle. It's a little expensive, but worth it.  OH!  And you want to get the 0% fat one.  I heard that people dump on the 2% fat one.

ENJOY!

Blooms used to be Food Lion.  Several months ago Food Lion changed their stores to Blooms ("high end" marketing), Bottom Dollar ("low end" marketing), and "middle marketing stayed Food Lion.

And what I know of them since - they just became more expensive  - have a few different foods and charge more - I much prefered my own Food Lion......... now I mostly go to Walmart because it is significantly cheaper now.... for vitamins,  proteins and protein bars! Jackie
