Group Challenge & Invite

OK Guys, Sporty Jill and I have taken the leap,.... I'm going to VA Bch to join with her in the Shamrock 8K March 15 and she is coming to Richmond to join me in the UKROPS 10K April 5. Any body wanna come with us to walk, jog, or just cheer and then help with social and physical recovery afterwards? Don't be shy!!

Ok...Guys and Gals.... Definately DON'T be shy....we have a small group doing this....myself, my sister (she just started running so she will want to walk/run), Joe and I think Joe's daughter (walk/run).  So, don't think that you have to run the whole thing or at all..... Come on out and join the fun!

I can't do the 15th but can do April - I think it is a great idea for us al to come down there and cheer you on!! Jackie

Ok Im gonna be the one to ask the important questions. What time is this and where is the meet up place? And how far is this 10K I dont walk much you can see that lol sorry. And those who are going to cheer you on is there a special area they are to go and be at?    

The race times are 8 a.m. on Saturdays. The Shamrock 8 K and UKROPS 10K require registration and a fee to participate officially and packet pickup on the Friday afternoon/evening before.  Spectating and cheering on your friends and/or family is free, it would just be a matter of meeting up and hanging out before the start and the cheerers moving to a cheering location (I'd pick closer to the finish line) after the start.  Depends on who shows up and what they want to do. Maps of the areas and routes are on the websites for the races. 8K is 5 miles (4.97) and 10K is 6.2 miles. We can gather after the races to decide what we want to do  and where to go crash and take in some recovery nutrition and fluids after unless someone want coordinate such before thte actual dates. Hows that for saying a bunch and committing to nothing,..in an election year too.

Well thank you Joe for explaing it to me because I really didnt know and Id love to be there to cheer you guys on but the March date I have planns but the April one I dont see why we cant get a bunch together an come cheer you all through it so we just need to find someoen to head up the team and put it all together there are some I think that might come from this way to Richmond I better looks at that date again but  Im sure we can round up something. I will be cheering you and Jill both on even thoug I wont be there on the sidelines Ill be there in spirit I wanna see first and second place ribbons or whatever it is they give out, so dont let me down now : ) Just kidding you guys will do great!!!! 

Thanks for the support.  It should be a lot of fun especially if we can get some folks together to socialize aferwards in addition to the physical activity.

I was planning on signing up for the Shamrock so I'm in. Be nice to see my old hometown, so I should also jump in on the Ukrop's deal...but no guarantees on that. So I am half-way in!
