Daily Inspiration - Find new ways to nurture yourself
Find new ways to nurture yourself.
Sometimes people use food as a way of nurturing themselves. Food is such a comfort when you are feeling down. It is a great companion when you are celebrating alone. It brings true pleasure, both in the anticipation of eating it and with the first bite. Yes, food is nurturing.
After WLS, it's still okay to enjoy food. In fact, eating the highest quality of food you can afford, and preparing it well, helps you to feel satisfied with your new life. However, a healthy approach to dining dictates you eat only when you really need to. When you want to eat, but know you're not hungry, identify the feelings behind your desire to eat. Are you in need of nurturing? If so, choose an alternative to food. You'll get used to responding differently to your nurturing need. Give it time.
Action for the day: Make a list in your journal of things that feel nurturing to you other than eating. The next time you feel the need to be nurtured try something from this list.

So I run like a Girl....now keep up!
Good am, I have been focusing more on this as well. I have really taken some time to think about my mood/food triggers. I am doing so much better now that I've incorporated breakfast into my day. Yes, I was a BAD Kat and for some time didn't eat breakfast. I usually drank a protein drink but always noticed mid to late day that I was sluggish, tired, etc. My nut suggested I change that ASAP. I knew better but habits you know! So, I have done quite well with this and journaling is like breathing so these tips...please keep them coming!
