Well it looks like  you all were right!  I had my nissen fundoplication (reflux surgery) looked at and its all messed up.  So that means he is going to do the bypass to fix that problem!!  Hooray!!!  The risks are a bit higher, and Dr. Mann said that he will take the whole day on me as opposed to a few hours as there is alot of damage control to do because of scarring.  But he is going to do it, and I am so happy.  My hospital stay is going to be longer.  I have high hopes of a successful ending. I have joined the local gym and had an awesome workout today.  Thank you all for your words of support.  I am back on the bandwagon.  He said the surgery will be mid to late april.  Whoo Hooo!!!

I am glad you are getting done what you wanted done and a competent surgeon who can do it for you. Hopefully this will be the end of these issues for you and you can get on with living again!..... It is not too far away so the sooner you can get yourself a bit fitter, the better you can pull through surgery....... so work that gym lol! We will all be praying for you! I am so happy it is all working out for you and you are getting some action..... Jackie

Thank you so much.  I remembered all the support you all gave me when I thought it wasn't going to happen.  I can tell you I am excited for two reasons, the weight loss yes, but I have severe heartburn, and this should take care of it.  I believe it is worth the risk to improve my quality of life.  I will let you all know when I get my surgery date.  Thanks again!  Lisa
