I have a tough time with dry meat, especially dry fish. Yesterday I bought some Lite Sesame Vinagrette that I can put on dry on stuff to add moisture. Tonight's chicken was somewhat dry but I had no problem with it after adding the vinagrette. One might wonder why DW's fish and chicken are always so dry - I just have to assume that is the way things are supposed to be.  Joe

I'm finding that white meat chicken can be challenging for me - though tonight we had baken chicken and spinach and I made sure not to drain my spinach much so I could soak up the extra juice with the chicken - it worked well.  Eggs (hard boiled or scrambled) aren't fairing well these days for me.  I do fine with fruit, but have been peeling it.  Just today I had my usual apple and ate it with the skin and had no problems (YEAY! - less work!). I'm curious about eating grapes.  Years ago my obgyn (odd I know, but we were talking diet in regards to eventually having a baby) and she said grapes are all sugar and aren't the best type of fruit.  So I started limiting them, and honestly I figured the same for after surgery so I haven't tried them.  Does the high (natural) sugar content in them cause dumping?  I know, my nut and doctors tell me that natural sugars don't cause dumping, but I really wonder what people experiences are with higher natural sugar quantities?

Since surgery I have come to really like fruit, and red grapes are my favorite. I think I dumped once after I ate a huge navel orange, followed by some red grapes. I had to go home from work to try and hold it down, then sleep it off. Sometimes I remind myself of a puppy. Joe

I am clearly a freak. Pretty well good to go on all meats. I only weak spot is anything reheated. Doesn't matter if it is chicken, beef, or tofu. If it's been warmed before, I am going to have to eat it cold. Otherwise it's dead to me.

I wouldn't say you are a freak, .... but you do appear to have a crevace in your head. Joe

Thank you all for sharing.  Now I'd like to get a little more in depth.  What do you "mean" when you say it makes you really sick?  For me to explain my "sick feeling" I feel like the fruit peelings or the meats get "stuck" in my chest.  Meaning I have to make it come back up for relief OR sometimes if I increase my fluids slowly, it will pass through.  I think I have experienced dumping before although, I am not 100% sure.  Just a few times and it has been all from refined sugars.  I ate a piece of wedding cake several years back now and the sugar went through me so fast, it made my heart race, I broke a slight sweat, and I felt very nauseated.  It passed in about an hour. I "tried" to get it back up...but sugar just flies through my stomach it wasnt there any more.  I learned to avoid icing or VERY limited amounts.
All you have to do is smile and she smiles back.

Hello hello again! First, I wanted to reply to your original post and say that I don't tolerate high fat/sugary foods, I don't tolerate fruits such as watermelon (too high in natural sugar), grapes, apples & oranges - all 3 because of the skins & acid from the oranges, I also cannot eat breads or pastas well.  As for the "sick" feeling initially mine was eating things that were too high in fat, sugar and carbs and feeling overwhelmingly ill, hot, sweaty, like I had to lay down and let it pass. Then other times I'd vomit and honestly feel a LOT better. Now days, I do not eat those things but within reason honestly or at all. I no longer vomit or I should say rarely but I still get hot, sweaty, heart racing, overwhelmingly tired/lethargic and I still have to lay down. Sometimes I feel "blah" for the rest of that day. I'm 5 years out as well and TRUST me we can still dump. Hope this helps!

For me, sick feeling is:

If it was dry meat, it feels like it is stuck and if I drink a little water, it just sits on top of the stuck meat and EVERYTHING comes back up.  Happens if I eat too fast, too.

However, for me, dumping is: sweats, feel like I'm going to vomit, racing heat, headache, cramps int he intenstines, shakiness, sleepy So...it depends on what I've eaten as to what will happen.
