OT - - So excited!

I am so excited I can hardly stand myself!  Tomorrow - Saturday - we are getting another dog! We currently have a one year old Irish Setter called Ember - she is really sweet - and tomorow we take ownership of a 2-3 Irish Setter called Casey. He is a rescue dog from the Irish Setter Rescue. We have enough love in our homes and our lives for one more dog because we think Ember looks a bit lonely sometimes.  We have had Ember since 8 weeks old so I have never had an adult dog befor. However when I read that he had been neglected, was starved and his hair has even fallen out at one point but was still a very loving and wanting to please dog,my heart went out to him. My husband is just as soft hearted as I am. Connor is just too excited for words. And running around with the two of hem is good exercise for us all!  Of course i am sure Ember won't be as wild about him to start with lol! So I came up with this last weekend and one week later it will be a reality.........  I love it when a plan comes together!! Wish me luck! Jackie

Dogs are wonderful but rescue dogs are the best. That is a real testament to the quality of your character that you would help a creature so clearly in need. Enjoy your new furry friend!

A new furbaby???  YEAH!!!!  Like b siad...rescue dogs are best.  My dad and his wife run a shar pei rescue shelter and it just breaks their heart some of the dogs that come in.  It's just terrible. But...you have such a loving home that it will not take long for this addition to adjust.  Connor will be in heaven to have TWO that he canplay with. I am SO happy for you! 

Well his story broke my heart - how could someone starve a helpless dog?? - I do not understand it.  So there I had to have him and make him happy.......... Jackie

Awww there you go again Jackie!!! Being that  wonderfule loving person agian everyone just loves. You better watch out you willb e turning your lovely home into a Rescue Center. Its hard to turn you back on those beautiful babys isnt it. Well cant wait to meet the new member next week.

Well I am not sure how obediant he is so we will probably have to have some training etc......  and it is  true I would have more animals but I have to draw the line at two dogs and two cats! Plus one husband lolol! Jackie

This is SOOOOO kewl! I'm excited for ya'll and cannot wait to see Ember & Casey! Hopefully they get along well! My sis & her ex-husband rescued a Border Collie named Lucky and its the BEST feeling taking care of them and giving them love and care that others for whatever selfish reasons couldn't. I am sure Ember won't be over delighted to see him at first BUT she may surprise us. She is a very loving dog.... and loves other dogs and cats outside the house anyway..... we have two dogs next door that romp and play together and she jus****ches them - longingly - through the fence  - it made me feel so sad..... I am looking forward to next weekend! Jackie
