OT - - So excited!
Congradulations on the newest addition to y our family! I know what you mean about not being able to turn away, I have 8 dogs myself, 4 little ones inside, 4 big ones outside. They were dropoffs and I couldn't bear to watch them go hungry, so one at a time my family has grown. I have 2 acres fenced in around the house for them to play in and they are always together. I am sure you will find the two of yours inseperable after a few weeks of adjustment. Best Wishes to you and yours. Hugs Pam
Wow Pam,
Now that is quite a collection and I am sure if I had 2 acres I would probably have more dogs too lol!! They are getting along pretty good and it is great to watch them play together! Now she is happier with a permanent playmate! We did the right thing and he is getting more comfortable with us.... he is so funny - when he sees me he bounds everywhere - it is like he has springs on his legs lololol!
We had an English Golden retriever before Ember and he was the sweetest dog and we still miss him....... I brought him over from Scotland when I moved here and he was only 8 months - my family thought I was crazy to move him and to pay all that money to bring him here but he was part of my family and I was not about to leave him at home.....

Oh, I certainly understand that! When my husband and I were dating, we went and picked out a golden retriever puppy -- named him "Sam" -- he was such a huge part of our family -- he moved all over the country with us, went everywhere from picnics to parties -- grew up with our daughter -- and he lived to be 16 years old!!! Losing him was one of the hardest things I have had to experience in my life. He was amazing. So amazing, in fact, that we replaced him with two goldens -- and they are so fantastic -- we might have to replace them with two each!!! : ) Hopefully, that will not be for a long time!
It is amazing how much a part of the family they get to be.
How's the new member doing?
Aw how sweet! Dogs give so much and ask for so little in return!
Casey is doing really well - he is very sweet - still very boisterious and we need to work on his discipline but he has a great nature and is not phased by us or by Connor - just not good at the "Come" command etc.... but that is all workable.... But what is funny is that he will chase planes - it is hysterical!! Anything that flies he does the gun dog pose (straight tail, bent front paw) and then chases it barking........ personally I think he is being a bit ambitious lololol! but you have to have goals, right ? lolool
Ember and him get on great but she is a little jealous so is somrtimes mean and will take his ball - he just sits there looking at her.... never confronts her but I suspect he will as he is quite a bit bigger than her and someday she will go for that ball and he will bark at her....
But they run round and around the garden together chasing ech other - so I think they are getting great exercise!
