He passed yesterday
It has been a bit crazy here or I would have updated sooner. Your love & support have been so helpful and have helped me stay strong for my family.
My fil passed about 12:30 yesterday afternoon. We were all in the process of trying to get motivated to get out the door to go see him, we had been told that hospice expected it only to be 24 - 48 hours. They called around 12:30 and said it was time, we rushed out the door to try and get there on time. He was gone in the 10 minutes it took us to get there. We actually think he was gone when they called us but didn't want to tell us on the phone. They said they were giving him some lotion etc on his body and he just stopped breathing, no pain, no fear (he had been out of it since about midnight). He looked so peaceful in the bed with a very nice comfy quilt over top of him. I believe that in his final moments he did find peace. The facility was spectacular, the care amazing, the nurses were angels. It has been a great experience to be here with the family & experience all of this. He didn't want to have services of any kind, just wanted to be cremated & placed next to his wife so that is pretty much the plan. We are going to have a small, personal family service on Friday at the Vault for those of us that are here now & they will have another similar service after the ashes are ready with the rest of the family in a week or so. My hubby is hurting and a bit lost, my girlies are holding up pretty well. Please continue to pray for them and their peace. I love you guys and will be home soon.
Courtney my dear Im so so sorry for you and your family please know you all are in my prayers tonight and in my thoughts. May God be with each and everyone of you and w/ your husband as well. Be safe and God Bless you all sending big hugs to you all...

My thoughts & prayers are you with, Matt & the girls as well as the rest of the family. I have prayerd tremendously for all and hoped your FIL would find solace in all this before he passed. Its amazing to me the Angels God places here in our lives in what ever "position" (nurse, doctor, care specialist, friend, etc) they materialize. More prayers going out and up and I'm hugging ya'll so tightly this am. Love you, always.
