Hello everyone, First and most important - thank you for all of the supportive thoughts and messages as I recover from the reconstructive surgery I had on 2/29. Two weeks ago today, I didn't know what I was in for! I have to say that I feel 150% better today than I did last week. The first week post-op was really difficult, physically and mentally. The second week post-op has been more about noticing progress and feeling good about becoming more mobile and having less pain (just discomfort). The development of the hematoma on my inner thight was a disappointment, but it doesn't seem to have gotten much bigger since Monday. I see the surgeon this morning and he will determine what the next steps are. I will check in later today with an update. Thanks to all and have a good Friday!

I am feeling so much better in just the last week of this recovery! I saw the surgeon on Friday and he didn't have to drain the hematoma; he said it looks like it's liquifying and will reabsorb on its own (over a long period of time, but that's okay with me). He did identify a smaller hematoma on the other inner thigh, but that one is minor compared to the "chief one". He said that the inner thighs are "the least forgiving part of the body" and "they don't respond to a joke very well". I was so relieved that he didn't have to drain anything - and it was nice to have some more staples taken out, because they are uncomfortable! I definitely am feeling stronger each day and the second week of recovery has been the polar opposite of the first week! I have this upcoming week off from work and hope to make even more progress before I return. I am able to drive and even met up with a wonderful group yesterday - it was good for my psyche! So I'm feeling encouraged and Oh So Different from a couple of weeks ago... thank goodness!
