Had My First APPT With The Surgeon Today I am One Step Closer.

Hi Everyone, Well today I have my first appointment with the Dr.  at Portsmouth Naval Clinic. They went over my labs and they were all good other than  my Vitamin D was low so I have to  take 50,000 mg once a week for the next two months and then one in the third month. Plus was put on HB pills. Then had my EKG and Chest X-Ray and now just have to wait until Monday and make the appointment with the Psy Doc and Nutrition Doc. So hopefully by June I will be having my surgery.   It will be here before I know it. :) I am so ready to be on the losing bench too. I will be taking Marion on Tuesday and staying with her that day. I am so happy I have that day off to take her. I know if I was in her position I would not want to be there alone.  So I am glad I am going to be there for her.  Well, Have a Great Weekend everyone. Hi, Gwen:  Congrats on the start of what will be an amazing journey!!  You will not believe how quickly the time will pass getting ready for the surgery.  It seems there is so  much to do with all of the pre-op appts., etc.  June will be here before you know it!  How nice that you are going to be there for Marion, too!  That's awesome.  Have a great weekend!

Time has already  been moving by so fast. I can't believe it. But I have my sneakers on and moving right along with it. :)

Congrats Gwen on your upcoming journey! Take this time to prepare yourself and ask your questions and put your seatbelt on girl because your ride is gonna be a wild and exciting one. I know it has changed my life for the better. Best wishes to you and we are all here for you sweetie....

Woo-Hoo for Gwen!  Thats exciting news.  I went last Friday and saw Dr Chastanat.  I asked him if he was the one doing the surgery or Dr Mann and he told me that they are both in there and both are involved.  I have my psch eval this coming Weds then my nutritional eval the following Weds.  I also am so ready for this to begin.  So you estimate early June?  It still seems so far away though, uh?  I guess I have to be patient and realize how long it took to get to this point.  I continue to browse the boards daily for new information and new tips.  This is such an awesome group of people with such great input.  Thanks to all.  Have a wonderful weekend.  Susan  :)
