Give your suffering a purpose.

We all have pain and suffering in our lives. What distinguishes us as individuals is how we respond to our suffering. Some people use food, alcohol, shopping, or other addictions to mask the pain. Others live in anger and depression. Some feel an overwhelming sense of self pity.

All of these emotions and coping behaviors are common, but masking the pain does not allow you to overcome it. You have to create purpose for it, or you cannot come to terms with it. When faced with sorrow, you can choose to grow from the experience both emotionally and spiritually. Just know you are not alone in your suffering. What can you do to give your suffering a purpose?

Action for the day: Meditate on your suffering. How can you use the experience to become a better person? To help others?

This is a GREAT post for sure! HELPING OTHERS is key when we face trials in our lives. Not only does it help them but in turn helps us in so many ways we'd most likely NOT see/experience. THANKS!!!
