As some of you may have read last weekend, I was taking to the emergency room and told that I had pneumonia.  Well as of this past Wednesday, when I wasn't getting any better, the dr made me go back to the emergency room for more x-rays.  This hospital and this hospital room is where I have been since then.  Just got my 3rd iv put in and the darn salmeterol is wanting me to eat everything that is not nailed down, needlesss to say it is making me moody and my sugars, after months of working to get them down to under 250, are now back up to 500 & 600's. While I know this is nothing more then my asthma being exasperbated by the pneumonia. I am sitting here, crying and freaking thinking that in 3 1/2 weeks, when I go to get my pre-op blood work done, it will show reason to postpone my surgery.  Ugh!!!  I don't want to start second guessing my having the surgery next month but sometimes, and I am not sure if this is normal but I feel or think that if I do not have it done on the date, that I wont do it, that something sabotage it or that I, myself will sabotage it instead, not intentionally. K,that's enough of my little trip down pity lane.  I want to thank everyone that wrote me back when I first got sick.  I HAVE every intention of writing everyone back but until today, by accident, I didn't know the hospital had this wireless connection.  At least I won't be bored as muvh.  I promise I will write everyone back when ever the pain meds are not working.  Hope everyone is having a great day and staying dry.  Looks like a good day to get inside things done. Hugs, Theresa

Theresa, I am so sorry to hear about your illness, hope you are better in time for your surgery but if not I am sure they will rescedule you as soon as you are well enough to withstand it. It doesn't help to say it but I know sometimes things happen for a reason and although we may not know that reason now, it will become clear to us in the future. Best wishes, Pam

Teresa,  I am so sorry but honestly it is far better for them to figure out what is wrong with you than send you into surgery ill. You really do not need the complications of surgical recovery and especially in your lungs..... You may still heal but if you are still feelng ill in 3 weeks time, you need to cancel your pre-op and rescheule when you do feel well enough to pass as I am not sure what insurance will do/pay if you keep repeating the tests due to failure.... You are in the best place right now for recovery so please try to relax and concentrate on getting well and not on making a surgery date. We all worried about making the magical date - but you WILL get another date when you are feeling better if they have to postpone it.  And it really is just a postponement - you WILL get surgery when you are feeling better.  I know this is not what you want to hear but all things happen for a reason and at some point it may become clearer. You may even heal withing the next couple of weeks and be ready for everything to take place as planned. Please just try to stay as unstressed as you can. Things will happen how they are going to happen whether you stress about it or not , so please just concentrate on the things you can control and try to get as fit as possible..... we are all sending you positive thoughts - hope they help!! You'll be fine sweetie. Just think to yourself, they will run every test imaginable on you to make SURE that your surgery will be sucessful and without complication...so as far as your feeling's of "not knowing if this is good or not" rely on the doctors that's what they are there for. You just focus on getting better, dont lose faith!  Then on the flip side, if your surgery were to be postponed for medical reasons, at least you'll know when you are cleared for surgery, you shouldnt have any problems recovering or being sucessful. Like I always say, if your going to do something, you might as well do it right! Hang in there and get better Brandi~

Theresa, so sorry your still not feeling well, But like said before you are in the best place to get better and get things healed up and on the right track before the big surgery. Like said your big day will come it might just be put off for a week or so but much better to be healthier and safe than to go into the surgery and end up w/ alot of complications. So hang in there and we are all here for you and praying for you and hoping for all the best. Hugs.....
