Minor MINOR setback, and Major Joy

Im not tolerating full liquids very well. I did okay with the unjury shake if I drank it really really slowly.  Other than that, most milk based things aren't sitting well with me.  Nausea and that funny sorta dizzy-ish feeling with the sweats.  So I went back to clear liquids for this morning.  My beloved skinny latte? Couldn't tolerate it.   I was feeling a bit down that the next food step isn't working well just yet, while my family has been having delicious regular food.  So I got out the scale that used to be a source of sadness and disappointment.   Well.  Down 11 lbs since my preop appt.  8 lbs since I had surgery.  Its been 6 days.  That weight is gone for good this time.  Its not a temporary weight loss that's going to rebound with more later.  This is a joy.  I am hoping that in a few more days I'll tolerate the full liquids better. It might just be milk that is no longer my friend.  I guess my new luxury will have to be spending the 100 dollars I spend a month on starbucks on shoes!  Small setbacks, big joys.  Blue crab?  I'm thinking of you!!  You're in my thoughts and prayers for a great surgery and recovery.  Brandi?  HOney you're doing great. This too shall pass!  Sacrifice now, for great health later.  You can do this!!!!  I found the broth from regular soup more yummy and filling too!  My kids have enjoyed not having to have much broth with noodle soup!

Dawn it has been less than a week and I promise it will get better! For some people milk is not good as they develop a lactose intolerance and that could be what is happening with you.  So hang in there and in a few weeks you will look back at this and smile! Jackie

Dawn, your new pouch is brand new and still wondering what the heck happened! You were smart to go back to clear liquids for a bit, until things settle down. You may develop an intolerance to milk products, or this may just be a passing thing. Hang in there and be patient. Congrats on the weight loss - it's nice to see the solid evidence of our efforts!

Good am Dawn, Time & space! Your body is adjusting to the major change(s) its undergone. In the beginning I have to say I don't think there has been any one person who hasn't struggled some. Many folks become lactose intolerant so be careful there as well. WAHOO to the shoes! Just know we are here for you to help in any ways we can. Thoughts & prayers coming your way! All best!
