Daily Challenge - Eat a little, then wait
Did you know that it takes 20 minutes for your belly to tell your brain it’s full? That’s why it’s so important to pace yourself during meals, chew slowly, and savor every bite.
Today, challenge yourself to make your meals last 15-20 minutes long. Or at least wait that long before going back for seconds. **Reposted with written permission from www.kashi.com. Check out www.kashi.com for more articles and ideas.

So I run like a Girl....now keep up!
You are so right about this. It wasn't much of an adjustment for me even before surgery...I'm always the last one to finish eating & almost never went back for 2nds. Now, it's taking me as much as an hour to get through a meal cuz food gets stuck...ouch! I wish I could get the menfolk in my family to adhere to this rule cuz they're the eat it now, taste it later types. Then they wonder why they need to lose 20-25 lbs!

I struggled in the beginning because it sucked that everyone finished so fast & here I was still sitting at the table. I had a friend who suggested doing a little more conversation with everyone to see if I could change things a bit & get them to slow down. It actually worked. As I would eat with my family members, I would ask direct questions about things going on in their lives and since they had to pause eating in order to answer me it helped to slow it down so that we could all enjoy the time together.
