3 Month Check up...
Hey Ya'll....
I had my 3 month follow up ... it was good and bad.
Goods:
My LDL is down to 73 from 107
My Blood Pressure is down
No knee pain
Great Cholestrol level
No Back Pain
Sleep Apena .. well I say it's gone
I've lost 28% of my excess weight
Bads
Im low on Vit A and Selenium
I have to start excercizing daily
He wants me to start incorporating more F&V which I am totally stoked about! Bring on the Greens!!
Gee ... even the goods out weigh the bads on the short and long term... Yay!
The Dr's scale says I weigh 245 (with clothes on and in the middle of the day).
In the a.m. I am down to 241... so ... in their world I've only lost about 41 pounds. but in my world it's 50 (as I go from my heighest weight of 291 not my sw of 286). That always makes me a little sour, but he does suspect I'll loose another 60 -70% ... WOW!!! I can't wait....

that is a decent weight loss - when previously did you manage to lose 41 or 50lbs in three months?? - so give yourself some credit! - you are on the right track!!
So now - if you increase your exercise that will help you speed things up!!
And take vit A - the dry Vit A kind ( it usually comes as Dry Vit A & D) . Did your doctor supplement your selenium? Maybe eating more vegetables might help as it occurs in veg as well as meat and protein supplements. But don't ignore it - the repercussions can be serious....

Jackie my friend... you are so right... back when I did WW it took me 11 months to loose 52 pounds... serioulsy.. I need to get a grip! I laugh at the insanity of it all... LOL .... What about Beta Carotene? He wants me to take 25000 IU of Beta Carotene. I have to go to Vitaminne shoppe and grab some Selenium.. he didn't give me an amount to take... so Im going to go for broke and just do 500 IU .. I think I found that in a pill form, I looked at things online earlier. I'll go directly to Vitaminne Shoppe tomorrow a.m. This vitamin thing is a doozy to wrap my head around, do you have any good sites?

Well in the beginning I used www.Vitalady.com and Michelle (who owns and runs it) knows a great deal about vitamins - she is one of us - and you can write to her and she will give you great advice on what to do and what kinds of vitamins work best for us. I think your doctor should have given you a dosage because you don't want to take too much of the selenium either.
The Vitamin Shoppe or GNC are good places to go as you need them right now......but I would still send Michelle an email...... you have nothing to lose......
And of course your nutritionist can be your best friend in the beginning..........

LOL Amanda @ the apnea being gone. I swore I didn't have it! Sleep study? Waste of time! LOL I'm a proud but temporary cpap-er. LOL Congratulations on all of the great news! Your "bads" are still great in that they are easy to fix and do!!! Sounded great all the way around. Keep up the fantastic work! Yeay for you!
