Welcome to the bench Pam!!!!!  Glad to hear you are home doing well.  As each day passes you will feel better.  Definitely get in some walking, lots of fluids, and rest.  It will help tremendously.  Keep us posted.

Hi Pam, Am really glad you are on the downside now.   I thought about you Monday night as I was doing my preop liquids for Tues.   Mine went extremely well.  I was a bleeder for abit, a little concern, but then was all stiched up inside and glued on the outside and done!   Each day is getting better and better as with any surgery or illness.   Keep your chin up!   Walking even around your home is helpful if you can't go outside.  It does help some with the gas, but overall the body just gets moving.   Take care and try to relax.   You will be fine, too!   Brenda

My Dearest Pam!  I feel like the worst friend that ever existed!!!  How on earth did I NOT know you were having your surgery?  Had I known, I'd have been there for you...litterally.  I am so very sorry for not being there for you when I could have been.  Well, actually....hmmmm...I WAS sick all last week, so maybe it's a God-thing that I didn't know.  Well, anyway, I'm all better now so if you need ANYTHING, I'm but a phone call away.  You have my number, sweetie so PLEASE use it.  I mean it.  Call if you need anything, ok?  Feel better soon , sweetie!!!

Hugs!
Ann

Pam, congratulations on a successful surgery and welcome home. The first week or 2 post-op is definitely challenging. The best advice I can give has already been detailed by the other replies, but I would emphasize that you should not believe anything you do or feel is permanent at this point. Your body will not always feel like this and your emotions are definitely a result of the surgery and how you are adjusting. You have to get good at going with the flow and just know that if you are feeling good or bad, it won't last long and you will soon move on to a different feeling and situation. Hang in there!

Oh sweetie!  It's okay and IT WILL GET BETTER.  :)  I hope that you will start feeling better over the next couple of days. I had the same thought when I got home...how helpless I was and what the HECK was I thinking when I said being home alone would have been okay.  I was glad to have my hubby with me for a few days.  After the second hospital stay I was on my own and had to buck up, but was feeling better by then.

Thanks everyone for your continued support. I have not been to the computer for a few days so it's wonderful to get so many reasuring messages that all is not lost and the future is brighter. I'm healing slowly, but surely and each day is a little better. I'm really looking forward to being on the losers bench without hanging onto the bottom for dear life. I know the day is coming soon I'll be able to laugh at my misery.Hugs, Pam
