Any Hampton Roads DS'ers?

Hi all! I used to lurk here frequently as a pre-op, but never saw another DS'er or mention of a local DS support group.  Now, BeachPat is getting a revision to the DS and I jokingly told her we could start a support group of two. Then, it seemed like a good idea to check again. Are there any Hampton Roads DS'ers here? Thanks!

I am honestly not aware of any on the board.  But...if you need support there are several support groups in the area and of course...HERE! Good luck!

Aren't you sweet! Thanks for the offer! I didn't bother with the local support groups because the DS diet and issues are so different from the RnY. I'm still trying to wrap my head around things and frankly don't need one more thing in my life that confuses me. I may have to start coming to recruit your pre-ops, though. We get a toaster for each convert, you know.

I am in Charlottesville, and am the ONLY one over this way.  There are several in NoVA.  Maybe we could do a Saturday thing in Richmond sometime??

Hey Ample! I know you from the DS board. Yes, the group from the northern VA, DC, MD area are very active. I've been invited to their get-togethers, but it would mean at least 8 hours of driving in one day just for lunch. Plus, that Gina ***** who had her surgery around the same time as mine, now weighs in the one hundred teens. Much as I love her, I can't say that my jealous, one hundred teen arse wouldn't be tempted to just plop down and strangle her. Aren't they about about the same distance from you as Richmond? You should go to one of their get togethers. Nice group of women. But, yes, I have some friends in Richmond who I keep promising to visit. When I lug my lazy butt up there, we'll have to have our own little subversive get together.

Hey Kel -- I am an hour from the west side of Richmond, and 2.5-3 hours from NoVA, so Richmond would be better for me.  I know some of the NoVA folks said they'd be willing to do something in Richmond.  I think having an overnight thing would be fun: get a couple rooms, have topics, maybe a REAL nut to answer questions, or just hang out and get to know one another!  BTW, I am hoping to go to a bird show on June 7 in Hampton -- maybe we could hook up then? Another question for you: I know someone else who goes by 'goodkel', but from another venue.  She hangs out in a club in DC sometimes.  I was just curious, with such an unusual name, if you were perhaps one and the same? I'd love to meet you in Hampton on June 7th! I'm putting it in my calendar now. But, nope, no relation to anyone who hangs out in DC clubs. I did that once about 10 years ago, but that was it.
