Definately get up with Jackie's group.  they are GREAT group of people and LOTS of fun to hang out with.  Whenever I'm up there, we always seem to laugh until we cry. Plus...she is VERY imformative and can provide you with alot of assistance. Plus, as she states below...check out the OH event in Ashburn.  From what I hear is it going to be great for meeting up with people in various stages of the journey and from around various parts of the state.  It should be a good time! Good luck with your banding, keep us posted, and if you need anything...we are here!

Hi & welcome to our board.  I am having RNY on 4/30 so our dates are both right around the corner.  I am just a bit south of you, right down 95, so maybe a group meeting of some of us locals could be planned.  Hope you feel at home here & again, welcome! Hugs, Theresa

yes Cindy!  thanks so much! lol. I would love to meet up with anyone who wants to meet up maybe some day in the burg or something just a casual get to know you kind of thing?  I have been wanting to go to the paint your own pottery place in downtown, but no one to go with so if anyone is interested we could do that or whatever!  I am up for just about anything.  Anyone in the King George Area?  I am going to be looking for a walking - biking - running buddy...I can't run yet with my knee, but I am hoping to get there again soon.  Ummm, I am trying to think of something I can tell you all about me. Ok here goes. I am 27, I have PCOS and have been married to my Navy hubby for 4 and a half years.  When I met my husband 5 and a half years ago, I weighed about 180, I was a water aerobics instructor, swimming instructor and lifeguard certification instructor. I love the water, grew up every day at the beach since I was a baby!  When I was diagnosed with PCOS (when I ruptured a cyst) they put me on all sorts of hormone junk and i blew up about 60 pounds, of course right before my wedding! AHHH.  I have always been overweight, but I was healthy and fit before, where I was excercising and could do all of the things that I wanted to do.  So then over the last 4 and half years, we have been trying to have children.  I have gotten pregnant 5 times and unfortunately lost all five.  But please don't appologize or feel bad for me, God has a plan for me, and losing weight will help me to be just that much better of a mom when His plan comes to fruition.  I think of my little angels daily and know they watch over me, so I figure when I get to heaven I will be one short of the brady bunch up there!  HAHA!  Other than that, we have a 3 and a half year old Black lab that is our "daughter" and she is fully aware of that fact!  I would love to find someone else with a dog that might want to hike in Caladon woods or something down the road.  I am hoping to be ready for something like that this fall with my knee.  (I had lyme disease for three years undetected when I was 16 and it deteriorated the bone and muscle...so I have to really build the muscle up around it so that it doesn't randomly give out on me...while entertaining it's not always the most fun! haha).  So that's the abreviated version of my story typos and all! haha.  Hope to get to know you all!  Kris

HaHa!  I love the name of your girl!  My old girl's name is Sasha as well!  I work down in Dahlgren for NG.  I would see if you want to meet up for a light lunch, but there are not really any resturant down there that are healthy.  And I refuse to go back into the Crappy Oyester.  Good Luck on your procedure, it is right around the corner!

too funny, I live about a mile outside the main gate of the base! haha.  I am on liquids right now so the only places i can eat out are the chinese restaurant and the thai restaurant and sip the broth out of the wanton soup! haha.  I love the thai place...soooo good.  And the lady there is too sweet.

I LOVE wonton soup.  That is one thing I hope I can still have.  I love Mahle's.  I was there today.  Getting my fix before surgery.  My favorite from her is the Pad Thai and Chicken Basil.  She has great food.  Mahlee is a sweet heart.  I like going to Cajun and getting their chef salad though.  It is very good!  And they "say" their house dressing is law fat.  I only need a little bit of it to satisfy me.

RNY on 02/22/06 with
Kris that is a very interesting story and I am here to tell you not to give up on that baby. When I was in the UK , I had three miscarriages when I was 24, 25 and 26 years old, and was told I would never carry children or get pregnant again....  Fast forward to when I was 45 years old and they diagnosed me with type 2 diabetes and put me on glucophage in the October and by the January I was pregnant! I am now the mother of a great 4 year old boy and would not change things for the world!!  So I am proof that you should never give up! And thanks to him,  I had gastric bypass surgery so I could be healthier and fitter and be able to run around with him and be the kind of mother he deserved!  Plus I have two Irish setters and 2 cats - so a full house..... It is great to get to know you and welcome to the board! Jackie
