Ideas for the VA Message Board
As a long term member here , I do appreciate when members share their stories and journey milestones. I also enjoy reading education on our lifestyle , no matter what surgery type it may be.
If you are a new member , or a member that has been here for a while , What do you hope to gain from the boards?
Are there topics you would like to discuss ?
Are there any educational pieces that you may be trying to research , but unable to find ?
What suggestions would you make to the boards?
Are you looking for a support team ?
I want to see if we can come up with WLS topics . Those that are going to encourage you. Topics that will interest you.
While there are those contributors that post articles from other WLS sources. I would like to see our own group come up with great topics that will get us thinking .. and working towards goals and helping each other .
I know there are lurkers out there who may want to post and not sure what to say or ask .
I want to open it up to those people as well to come out and join us in any discussion .
So tell me, what would you like to come to the VA Board and read .. or What information are you interested in . I am sure there are many members here that can provide answers and really have fun with a true WLS message board.

I like the randomnessof this board. I wouldn't want to see it turn into something other than the way it's going. We have a very active, open group of people and one of the most active state boards on OH.
For instance, I posted on the Florida state board asking for support for my bff who just joined and had RNY on 3/11/08. Not one person replied to my post or posted to her on her surgery support page. I'm more than happy to support your BFF by signing her surgery page. I completely & 100% agree with you that this board is GREAT and the randomness is key as well. We ARE very active, open and I am thankful to be a part of such a great forum. Hugs......

Change the board??? Who wants to change the board, and why would we change the board?
The board is great as it is.
This is the first board I have participated in where everyone has an opportunity to speak, no one is trying to take control of the board with their own views on life, or acting like it's their own personal high school cheerleader club.
Why would we want to change it??? I love the fact there are so many points of view, informational resources and motivational support here. I love that I can start each day with a great group of people that I call "friends".
So...it goes back to my original question of...Who wants to change the board? I ask because I have no clue where you got the idea that someone wanted to change the board.
Has someone said that they wanted a change?

That is the way I took the original question from Nat. And I saw that over 100 people had viewed her post and no one said anything so I was just speaking my mind.

I think you read the post different in the way I intended it to . I wanted to see if there are folks out there that have ideas or things they may want to talk about or discuss .
I am really at a loss here about the word " change "
I think the board is great. I just wanted to see if there are any particular subjects or ideas people want to talk about .
And my point exactly .. there are over 100 people that view it.. and no on responded . So there has to be lurkers out there I am sure that read here .
