you're right, no harm in having another sleep study to have the best data for the doctors to advise from.  I just hope that insurance will cover another one.  I think they billed like $2K or something for the one I had.  I should probably call the insurance company to find out about that too.                                         Wow, sounds like you've been through alot with your cycle too.  I hope everything is resolved now.                                                             I will definately check out teh post-op pregnancy forum!  thanks for the tip!

You are so adorable.  I have never had a sleep study so I am not sure what to say on that front. On the hag, well, I have "PCOS" and my periods are pretty much nonexistant for about the past 2 years.  I have heard of women who have PCOS and have the surgery and start having their period right away and come normal cycles.  Luckily for me, I took my husband to the vet after we had our son, and told him he wasn't allowed to come home till the deed was done.  And he is home now...so, no babies for me.

Lauren, I will limit my response to your first question.  I have been using a CPAP for the past 8 years and it has made a HUGE different in my sleep and headaches. However, I have also noticed a change in the past few months. First, I had to adjust my mask to make it tighter (because of lost weight in my face, I guess). That worked for a while. Just in the past couple of weeks, however, my wife says that air is coming out of my mouth and making noise, and my throat and mouth are a lot dryer. I have also been thinking about getting my CPAP adjusted. Mine has been set at 8 since day 1, and perhaps I need to have it reset. Joe

Nate has told me that too - that I have an air sound from opening my mouth.  I even had to buy a new chin strap to try and deter myself from doing it.  So now I look like even MORE of a reject with my snorkel and an elastic head contraption holding my chin up.  HA HA.  I always joke with Nate about how sexy I must look like in bed.  OOOoooooo baby.

I would definitely check to see about getting the cpap adjusted.  By losing weight, you are relieving pressure on your lungs, throat, sinus, etc.  Breathing should be easier & you either don't need as much hel*****ne at all from your cpap. As for the periods.  Before surgery I stayed on the pill which kept me regular.  After surgery started having issues with break through bleeding etc from my pills.  Becuase of losing the weight my hormone levels were changing  and the pill I was on was not the right one for me.  Since my hubby has been to the "vet" (I liked that one), I figured I didn't really need the pill anymore (needed it before he & I got together) so I quit taking it.  My body is nice & regular every 28 days with nasty PMS, cramps, heavy periods that I hate (& never used to have).  I have considered getting back on the pill just to regulate the severity of my periods.  Losing the weight definitely effects your period, your hormones even out (in the beginning because the hormone level can be higher, you could have longer periods and more frequent periods), you become more fertile, more regular, etc.

I know what you're saying about the cramping and all.  The pill makes it so much easier to deal with.
