For those who have had Dr Halmi or associates....
I had Dr Halmi but it was over two years ago - he is the best!! It depends on what your insurance requires and you have done most of the other tests and he will accept the results of those if they are close enough to surgery. There was a $200 program fee when I was there - but he is the best surgeonand his practice is just wonderful - he really cares about his patients. He has a support meeting on the first Thursday of the month at Potomac Hospital so you can go and meet him then - I usually go to them too.... so if you go please make youself known to me - I usually talk during the meeting so I am not quiet lololol! He is also speaking at the OH event at Ashburn.....
I had my appointment of 8th of Jan and was approved on 11th and had surgery on 22nd Feb - did all my preops appointments in that time in between. But I had BCBS Fed which has no requirements except your surgeons letter of necessity. Other insurances require 6 month diets supervision etc.... call his office and ask......

I have meet him already. He actually did my gallbladder surgery. LOL He is great. I saw him back in Feburary when I restarted the process. He is a wonderful person and I trust him whoeheartly. I know the fees have gone up. I was just wondering what other pre op processes, like tests and if they require those meetings before surgery and stuff.
