Oh i forgot to tell you guys....
They told me I was denied at this point. I didn't think it was a formal denial. But I am not to worried about it. I even spoke with the RN handling my case in from what I got from her it was a denial till I got in the requesting information. She called me the same time I was on the phone with my Ruth from Halmi's office. Ruth was under the same impression as me. So I don't think I have to go through the formal denial process. I will wait and see what happens when I turn in my clerances. I am sure everything will be fine.
Denied? I thought you got approved yesterday...Did I miss something? I'm confused - haha
Was it pre-denial? ACK!!!!!

Thank you everyone. Wow, this is moving very quick. I heard this morning from the surgeon and insurance company. Well they have denied to claim due to wanting more information. So, it is not, no you will not have it, lets get this info and we will re-reveiw. Beause of my history of cardiomyopathy (released from cardiology since 05) they want a cardio clearance and because of my history of Asthma a pulmonary clearance. But that is not even an issue for me, I am not on meds nor have I ever been hospitailized. But hey it is for my best intrest. So i have everything set up for next Thursday.

Hey Sweetie! I just read the post where you mentioned you have cardiomyopathy...SO DO I!!! Do you realize how rare that disease is? I am so surprised to know someone else who has it. Wow! Do you have a defibrillator too? What's your EF? Mine's down to 20%. I hate to sound so excited, but dealing with this stupid disease for all these years with no one else I know that would understand what it's like...well, I hate that we have it, but I'm glad to know someone else who understands. Good grief...I'm repeating myself...sorry.
If it will make you feel any better, in spite of having the myopathy, I had my lapband surgery last July & I'm loving the results so far. So don't give up hope...you'll get our approval.
Ok, here is my story. I had even a more rarer cases of cardiomyopathy. I had what is called peri partum cardiomyopathy. It is a condition that pregnant woman can get. in the last trimester to 6 months post partum. So here is my story. I was dx with gestational diabetis, insulin dependent with my son. I was 23yo. I remeber during my pregnancy my bp dropping. I am usually right at the safe mark, but I would get down to the 110/60. So it was a drop for me. Thought nothing of it. I was nduced two weeks early and when I was in labor towards the end I was asking for the epodural, my bp was 90/30 at that time, and they were squeezing the IV Fluids into my system to give me the epi. I had him and all was well. He was admited after birth to ICU for not being able to control his blood sugars and tempature. Imagine a 9lb 12 oz baby in ICU with little babies. He was then jaundice. He spent a whole week in the hospital after birth. I spent two weeks with him at home when I got very ill. I came down with some type of virus that caused me to have a 104.5 fever and heart palpatations. My heart rate was in the 120s. I went to the first ER by ambulance from the urgent care because of my EKG. They gave me an asprin while I was there. that caused my fever to go down and the palpatation essentially stoped. They said I was dehydrated and that is why my heart was the way it was. I am a breastfeeding mother of my third child. I KNOW how important it is to stay hydrated. Then tried to give me amoxacillin after i told them I was allergic to it.
I got home and my fever returned and with it the palps. The next day my husband took me to another ER. They were freaking there with my palps and heart rate. They agreed with me that the palps were directly related to my fever and not being dehydrated. They were amazed that the other ER let me go with my condition. I was admited that night. It was a Saturday. By Monday my fever finally broke and the palps where pretty much gone. I was on the cardio floor. They decided to do a echocardiogram on me to check for Mitro Valve prolapse. That night, my doctor came in and was like, you are young healthy, we should be releasing you tomorrow. He said he was going to check my results from the echo. My doctor is middle eastern. When he came back in he was ashen white. He told me that my heart was weak and enlarge. He didn't understand why and the cardio doctor will be in soon to see me. And just left. I lost it. The nurse came in and was like many people have this but don't know it. It is common. blah blah blah. Yeah well thanks, i KNOW I have it, I am 23 with a new born baby and two other very young children. WTF!!!
The first thing the doctor told me was when he came in was to lose weight and I could not have any more children. That was fine, because we decided we were done with three. But still to have that taken from you is so hard,e specially at a young age. I was planning on a tubal, not a 100% yet. He felt I was not healthy enough to have it. So hubby got the V done for me. But he said I was at ef of 30%. Since I was having the palps and a history of it, he decided to do the stress test. Since I nearly passed out with a plummeting BP and tachycardia, he decided to do the Epiphislogical study EPS?? That would determine if I needed an ICD or meds, since I had the racing heart instead of the slow heart. Everything came out fine with it. I was released a week later.
I did carry a monitor around for a week and was found I had sinus node tachycardia and it was not dangerous. Three months after dx I was up to 50%. I year later I was at 60%. I was released in 05 from cardiology. I did go back in Sept of 06 because I was having horrible edema. I didn't have it before. It was causing SOB and palps. My cardio ( the same one) told me that is was highly unlikely I regressed. the only way it could happen was if I got pregnant. But did a echo just in case. I am still holding at 60%. I still have moderate enlargement, i think in my left ventricular, and mild in another part of my heart. But over all the report said it was a sound study.
Even though I am fine now, it changes your life when you face your own mortality. Puts things in a whole new light. I went through a lot emotionally after it.
