I agree with Christina, the best protein is UNJURY. I really like the chocolate and I have vanilla for an option. It dissolves well and tastes pretty good. It has verylow sugar and high protein.  You will want to start to ween your self fromy your sodas, this is very hard but you need to do this for success with your Journey. Good Luck, Rita

Hi Rita.  Thanks for the advice.  I ordered samples of unjury and hopefully I will like them.  I have cut down on the sodas although I do admit that that will be 1 of the harder thingst to get rid of.  Thanks for the well wishes. Hugs, Theresa

Tastes are so different when it comes to the protein supplements, it seems.  I am one of the few, I think, who likes the Isopure bottled protein drinks...not all of them, but there are a few that aren't bad and they have a lot of protein in them (40g per bottle).  I also really like the Muscle Milk Light (chocolate or mint chocolate flavors) -- more like a chocolate milk.  I keep them in the 'fridge and that way they are nice and cold, like chocolate milk should be!  ;)  They have 20g of protein in them, if memory serves.  I watch for sales on both of these products and buy them in bulk.

Pssst....the guy at my local Vitamin Shoppe said that the "light" Muscle Milks were teh same thing as the regular version, just have the serving size and more expensive...I didn't check the nutrition (he was out of the light), but you may want too...it could end up saving you some $.

Thanks for the tip!  I pulled up the nutritional information, and taking into account the serving size difference, you are right -- the regular is higher in fat and a little higher in calories..also, a little lower in protein, but other than that, very similar.  For me, the smaller size works well, because I can grab it and run...which seems to be all I do any more!  I really appreciate you letting me in on that!  :)

I really like them -- between the convenience, the amount of protein, etc. -- plus, compared to a lot of the others I have tasted, this (for me) is probably the best tasting.  I buy them at GNC and at The Vitamin Shoppe.  I watch for sales -- bought a bunch online from The Vitamin Shoppe about a month ago because of a big sale they had -- ended up only being $1 per serving.  They have other flavors, but I am a chocoholic, so the chocolate and the mint chocolate are my favs.  :)

Hi, Teresa:  Here is the link for Muscle Milk:  http://www.cytosport.com/ProductGroup.aspx?ProductGroupID=1 I get mine from GNC and from The Vitamin Shoppe...I even order them online through both companies if the stores don't have them in stock (it happens).  I watch for sales and such....  What I would recommend, is go by either one of them and get one to try and see if it is something that works for you.  (These are the prepared ones -- not the powder, though I like the powder too.)  Then try again after the surgery -- tastes have been known to change post op -- not sure why, but it happens. I hope this is of help to you!  Best of luck!  :)

Good am Theresa, Good replies already but wanted to add that post-op our tastes change quite a bit so you might find that what you like now or even real newly post-op you might not like moving forward. I enjoy the AchievOnes (Mocha Java) and there are 4 flavors: Mocha Java, Hazelnut, Vanilla Nut and Cappuccino. You can find them at bariatriceating.com and a few other places. They are liquid not powder which helps me. I am not a fan of powders. All best to you!
