Attention MAY 3rd @ Dinner Event

There was previous talk about a dinner/get together after the May 3rd event however nothing has come together at this point...We need to know who is interested, suggestions on a place to eat/get together so we can be sure this will accommodate us as well.This will be open to ALL who want to join in ...so come on let us get this planned ...folks are coming from different places and it would be great to get everyone together in the same location .... We will need to get this done as soon as we can so we can get our reservations in as quickly as possible. Looking forward to seeing you all there.......

Hey everyone! I think this is fanstastic! I am definitely interested. My understanding is the area has grown quite a bit and so I'm thinking there are promising places there. Christina mentioned possibly looking into this. Other folks might have ideas/suggestions as well. Being a Saturday I do know most places are reluctant to give reservations to larger groups. Its best to plan ahead so there are no disappointments/surprises. Looking VERY forward to seeing EVERYONE!

WOW Melinda that is nice of you to take this on.  I wish I could make it however, I will be in Florida speaking at a Childrens Obesity Rally in Florida .  I had totally mixed up the dates . I am sure fun will be had by all .  There are several great places to eat .  May I reccomend Swee****ers in Sterling .  This place has food that is awesome !!  Have a great time , you all will enjoy Dr. Kreiger !  Nat

Nat what a great cause!!  - where is it so we can all give our support and support you? I am always interested in childhood obesity as ! was an overweight child from about 6 years old. I know Shaq did a rally down in Florida last July and met with the governer there and it was very successful in making some changes to some of the schools there and he has taken it on as a personal crusade. Is it something he is sponsoring? We will miss you on May 3rd but you are missing for a good cause. Jackie

It is at Boca Byou ( SP ) Community Center . As a matter of fact it is right down the highway from Bariatric Eating's store .  No I wish Shaq was heading this up . I got involved with this by word of mouth and hope to be bringing it to VA . I know of his causes and he is moving mountains in the struggle .  Perhaps it would be something your group would be interested in . I have tons of literature .  Obesity runs in my family and I was extremly obese as a small child .. bouncing back a lot .. the anger and all the emotions it carries . My message to this group is .. " TAKE A LOOK AT ME " while it may sound like it would be a conceited message .. I will be telling them of my struggles and my passion to beat this .  I have been working with Julia Louis Dreyus's foundation to fight obesity and I am hoping soon to be able to provide our groups as well as other childrens groups their message .  It will be fun for all .. and I hope to do some good .  Thanks as always for your support !  Nat

Sounds really good Nat............... I do not see my group taking on Childhood Obesity anytime soon as a topic as we are already doing a lot of other things - and I don't feel I know enough about it to want to take it on.  Sadly obesity runs in my family too - my dad died at 40 of a heart attack and he was overweight and his brother died at 42 and he was also overweight and had heart trouble  -  it runs on the male side of my family - I have a younger brother who needs a heart transplant and he had his first heart attack at 29 when he was in the army and very fit - so genetics can get you. He is only 42 now and has had 5 heart attacks ......... but as a child it was only me who was overweight in my family.... Are you talking to kids or adults there?  Or both? Just thinking kids might not have an appreciation of looking at you - well depending on their age....lol! Good luck! Jackie

Well Im just  doing the head count for some of our wonderful lady's here who are very busy. Sorry you wont be with us on the 3rd, but the Obesity Rally sounds very interesting, is this a OH event? Is there information we can read and support to this? I too would be interested as I was a a obese child as well. And the restaurant you suggested we will check into thanks and good luck on your trip.

That sure is a great cause - one I have interest an' all. I was at Shaq's last year in Florida - he is an amazing man and passionate - oh lordy - very passionate about this cause! Maybe I can introduce the two of you as he is a big friend of the family - and I mean big as in way tall!!  I didn't know this was going on - maybe I will mosey on down and listen to you talk.....
