Hi everyone,  I am posting here on the Virginia board in hopes that maybe someone may know this person that I am looking to find.  His name is Nicholas Scinta and "was" living in Chesapeak, Va last account we had of him.  He had a business there called Quality Moisture and Pest Control but I dont think it is there anymore but am not 100% sure about that.  My husband is trying to adopt my son and we have been searching for Nick in order to get him to go ahead and let us do this.  Nick is my sons father and has only came and saw my son about 4 times since he was born and that has now been over 9 years ago.  He has had no contact and as he left it has no intent to contact or see his son.  My husband has been a father to my son since he was 2 years old and wants to make this offical.  If anyone has any idea who this is or knows anything please contact me.  Thank you ...  Mary Madison

I dont know this person, Im sorry. But I will say that a good friend of mine had a simuliar situation here in Va. I dont know if Va law is different from anywhere else but all she had to do was run a newspaper add stating something along the lines of Looking for Such and such to contest or not contest the adoption of such and such by such and such... You might want to look into that. She didnt get a response within a certain amount of time and she was able to allow her husband to adopt her child. Good luck to you

Brandi is correct.  When my ex was interested in adopting my son and we couldn't find his father, my attorney informed me that that was all we had to do.  My best friend just did the same.  Her attorney said she could post the ad in her city even though it meant her childs father probably wouldn't see it.  I don't remember how long the ad had to run but it wasn't more then a month or so.  Her new husband was then able to adopt the child, uncontested.  Don't give up and prayers to you! Hugs, Theresa

I wanted to say thanks for the replies.  We have a lawyer here that has been working on this for believe it or not it has been over a year.  She said that she has checked with the Newport ? paper and the price to run such an add is $1,500 for three weeks.  She says that she thinks that is outrageous and thinks it is cheaper to hire a private investigator to find him.  She says that it is signed in stone if we can find him but if we run paper adds and such that sometimes they can come back and contest what has been done.  I feel like she needs to go ahead and run the paper route and lets get this done.  Thanks so much for yall's response.

I am not sure how long you have to run the ad but I do know that me & my best friend were both told that we could run it in any paper (not necessarily the larger publications) and that is what she did.  She ran her ad in a local small town weekly publication and the cost was SO MUCH LESS.  You may want to check with that!  & you are welcome. Hugs Theresa
