So when are we going to see the Glamour Guys.... ???  Guys need pampering and doll up days.too ya know . ....  Getting your hair done , makeup done .. and pampering . Nothing like it .  I just spent a day at O'Hares Day Spa .. and I had such a great relaxing time . I think everyone should pamper themselves atleast once a month .  I love doing Make- Overs .. the transformations are exciting to watch . I had these type of photos done back before surgery, and even then I felt so pretty and elegant . They do so much for the soul.  It is awesome that Jackie offered that to the group . I am sure it was fun by all .  Nat

Pampering,....ok,..like maybe a massage or a hot tub,...oh yeaaah! Doll up days,.....that makes me nervous just having the thought. Cute or funny maybe but I think I'll just take your word for it and just enjoy the ladies of the board looking shiek.

Ok Mr. Joe...why would having glamour shots & getting "all dolled up" make you nervous?  Men need to feel good about themselves too, you know.  No feathers or bustierres for you, but some shots in a suit, tank top with leather jacket, button down shirt with a few buttons open, a tux, just to name a few outfits.  Make up would be limited to face only to even out skin tone & guess what?  It washes off nicely.  Have your hair done a different way for the shoot...again, it washes out.  Believe me, hon, once you start doing the prep work, along with encouragement & suggestions from your lady friends, you might be surprised at how great you feel not to mention the fab fotos.  It's not a gay thing & it's not too girly.  Open up your mind & dare to venture further into your adventure. Just some things for you to think about before you say no.

Hugs!
Ann

I am with Ann on this one . My son .. 6.5 290 pounds goes once a month to get a pedicure. He loves them ... and he says it relaxes him too .  Not saying you gotta put on make  up or dress up .. but just spending time pampering yourself , a massage .. a nice shave or facial . It can do wonders.  Jus saying .. you may enjoy it .. Nat

Joe, sweetie, if you have never had a pedicure, you have NO IDEA what you are missing.  And no, you don't HAVE to paint your toenails pink, but it could be fun. And I am here to tell you that a TRUE gentleman will have a manicure before being with a lady. There is nothing worse than hangnails in ... well, you understand, I hope. As for facials and massage -- why do they have to be gender specific? So get pampered!

Morning ya'll, It came at a time for me when I wasn't feeling particularly peachy about my appearance and my spirit was broken down some. (Long story) Anyhow, it was really and truly a day I needed and I really loved seeing everyone and talking and then getting the pictures done. I spent a lot of time the following week talking about how it made me feel and I realized that the flaws I was focusing on are ones that will change in time but worrying, stressing etc over them when I cannot truly control them is something I'm battling. Worrying is high on my list of habits I'm trying to tame. Its incredibly hard some days then days like today I'm good about it. I think it would be inspiring and encouraging if we could get folks together to do something like this that would include a "day" type thing. Quite possibly having folks offer up their specialties whether its make up, nutrition, hair, tips, tricks etc and pull together someone who specializes in photography on an affordable scale and do an outdoors park type gathering. I think that it would be phenomenal to pull together best practices and gift back to one another. Just saying...... HUGS & LOVE - K

Sarah.  It would be a great way to start documenting your journey. Pictures speak volumes during your first 2 years . And why not go and hang out with those that can share their stories and offer up advice.  Something to think about maybe ??  Nat

Good pm Sarah, Sweetie pre-op or post-op I think you would really enjoy this. I've gotten a couple suggestions and I am going to post something about a possible get together once I can get back to some folks about their suggestions and get more details. I'd really love to see any/everyone at something like this. I'm serious when I say even pre-op this type of support, encouragement, fun and such was really an uplifting experience. Please consider it! I'll be posting in the next day or so. All best!
