Yes...two day's ago I got sick for the first time. I felt it immediatly after swallowing. I wasnt eating anyhting that I should'nt but it felt like I swallowed some air inbetween bites and the air was coming back up rapidly and bringing the last bite with it in a hurry. I went to the bathroom and it immediatly came up, no problems and then I was fine. But then the next day about an hour after eating, I got really sickly feeling and I went to the bathroom and dry heaved for about 10 minutes with no result. So I took a nap and went on about my day with nothing really eventful following. But yet again tonight, I was 3 bites into dinner and again, it just didnt want to go down and it immediatly came back up! WOW, it's crazy how often it is happening in the last 3 day's when up till now it hadnt happened at all....Craziness Brandi~

Ok, not that this is my area of expertise since we've had different procedures, but I've got 3 ideas to throw out. 1.  Are you chew, chew, chewing your food enough? 2.  Are NOT drinking fluids while you're eating? 3.  Would Papaya Enzyme help? I'm sure there will be others more in the know than me to advise you, but that's what I came up.

Hugs!
Ann

Good am Brandi, Sorry to hear this is happening. A few suggestions that may help. First, as Ann mentioned chew, chew and chew some more. Next, can you give some ideas of the foods you are eating? Then, how is your fluid intake? Is there any discomfort? Do you feel pressure in your tummy like food is stuck? I am asking because of the very real possibility of strictures. (This is where usually the opening of the pouch isn't wide enough to allow food & fluids to pass through it well enough. Lastly, which should be at the top of my post you should call your surgeon's office and let them know of what's happening. All best!

Yep I was thinking the same thing.  Are you chewing enough?  Are you eating too quickly?  Definitely keep an eye on it as a stricture could be a possibility.  Keep us posted.

I chew plenty...but I am not able to get all my liquids in throughout the day. I already know that can be a problem. I try and try but it's uncomfortable for me because Im a gulper, and sip sip sipping drives me insane!!!!!!!!!!! But Im working on it. I do think that there have been time's that I have eatin to fast...but Im working on that too! It's a learning thing, ya know. Im only 3 week's out and Im still learning :) I dont think I have any stricture because it hasnt been every meal...just about once a day since 3 day's ago. Ive still been able to eat inbetween those meals with no problem... Thanks for the advice.

Hey Lady! :)  I went through something simliar.. and like the ladies before me... you have it on the head, chew chew chew till its almost liquid and time yourself, watch your bite size.. but you are learning so your ok.  Keep a log of what triggers this as it could be the food... I ended up having a stricture at about 6 weeks out but got it corrected and all is good in the neighborhood... Go easy on yourself and sometimes eating a day of soup ... helps let your pouch rest after an episode depending on how intense it was... For some reason frozen popsicles help settle the tum tum too.. but ONLY after about an hour or you are 100% sure you are done with all the "giving back" ....  PM Me with any questions!! Keep on Rockin Amanda
