I have to be honest and say that I too was HELLA CONCERNED about this same subject! BUT one thing I have learned by EXP in my lil 3 weeks out, is that EVERYONE is different. Some cant handle this, some cant handle that....but I have learned that so far...I havent had much of a problem with anything I have tried. I missed food like crazy during my pre op and even worse in the first few day's home because I have always been a meat and potatoes and pasta type of girl...BUT I was able to try different thing's earlier than I thought and really you should just relax and get in the mind set that it isnt the END of anything EXCEPT OBESITY!  Good luck to you tomorrow! Thanks Brandi,

I'm really feeling like the pre-op 2 weeks are going to be the worst part of it. I'm just going to try to occupy my mind. I've thought of things I've given up in the past... like alcohol. I haven't drink anything in about 10 years or so and definitely don't miss that. I gave up caffeine and sodas in January and I'm not really missing that too much (well maybe some).

I am definitely ready to lose this weight, and I think I'm prepared to do this. Just keep me in your prayers.

Sorry I am late getting to this dance, but I thought I would post my thoughts. I don't miss food because I can eat. I had a delicious tuna salad for lunch today. For dinner I had a tasty chicken tortilla soup. I have enjoyed all the cuisines of the world I have always loved. I have enjoyed Thai, Indian, Hungarian, Japanese, Italian. The difference now is that I eat in moderation. My wife and I meet once a week for sushi. Where I would eat 3 or 4 rolls before, I know have 4 to 5 pieces over a half hour and am pleasantly full. I enjoy the curries and sauces of Indian cuisine, usually with tofu, paneer, or chicken. The difference now is that I eat small portions. And I know to stop well before I feel full. This is something I didn't have before. I have also fallen in love with exercise and know this will sustain my progress as I get to eat more. The physical change has changed my mind. I would barely chew before. Now I savor each taste. I get more out of a meal than I ever did.

I had weight loss surgery. I did it the easy way.

Blair, Thanks so much. I respect what you have to say. You have done really great. I woke up Monday morning before I started my preop diet and thought:....this is the highest I'm ever going to see this scale again in my lifetime. That was pretty motivational. Keep up the good work and I hope I'm as half as successful as you. Penny
