A 2 parter: Aetna Certification and Dr Elariny

Hi everyone, I'm looking to have the VSG surgery with Dr. Elariny in Fairfax. I have a seminar 5/6, but I am impatient with questions and thier office seems very very busy lol. My question is has anyone did thier 3 or 6 month weight management program through his office? Or has anyone else that has Aetna done this program to be approved? What exactly does it include and what does the 3 month program cost? I would like to do the 3 month option of course. I did go to a Dr. that I went to off and on for weight loss (B12 shots and phentermine) and got my records from them but it is not 6 months straight. I do have 3 months straight from 12/08-2/08. I wonder if this would count toward this certification? Thanks

Good am, I wanted to say hello and wish you the best in your journey. I'm not able to answer your questions with regard to Dr. Elariny's office's procedures. When I was approved I had Aetna insurance as did my father. I was approved QUICKLY where as his approval took a little more time and it was just 6 months apart. Now, they have a 6 month supervised diet requirement. I would gather and provide EVERY piece of dietary information to them you have that will help your case proceed. The 3 months straight will be a benefit and continue getting weighed by your doc every month with notes about weight loss/gain and such. Keep us posted! All best!

Best of luck with your upcoming events pertaining to surgery.  I had surgery on 3-18-08 with Dr. Chan and I am amazed at already the results.   I have NEVER felt this great!   I have lost 28 lbs as of my 4 weeks post op.    The office is definitely busy, but you must learn to insist on speaking with someone that knows.   That is the only part that seems to be somewhat "lacking" there.   The surgeons are wonderful!    Best of luck!!!!
