Don't Give Up
Be not afraid of going slowly; be afraid only of standing still.
- Chinese Proverb
I love this proverb. It's one of my favorites and one that I raised my children under. That in life we will encounter sitautions that will frustrate us and make us want to throw in the towel, and quit. But, this will accomplish nothing more than you staying in the same position - no movement forward.
My problem is that I find it very difficult to allow the word failure in be in my vocabulary. I hate how the word sounds coming out of my mouth. For me, it's a word that has such a negative meaning that to say the word just makes me feel ugly. And to not be perfect me a failure.....or does it???
During my journey, I have had to rethink that word many times, and I have come to the conclusion that "failing is only failure when you quit". That everything we encounter in life is a learning opportunity, and that we have these events in our life to make us a more well-rounded person.
I recently had a situation where I wanted so badly to quit. I had even resigned to the fact that I was going to give up. But...my dear friend reminded me that I was not a quitter (just a wrecker - haha)....and I just had to keep trying.
While the sitation had nothing to do with weightloss, it was a target for how I have handled my weightloss journey. When a challenge came in that made me want to quit, I stepped back and re-evaluated the situation. Somethimes it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
So, when you encounter those situations where you want to throw in the towel and quit, think about the successes you have accomplished and let that move you forward. Sometimes, the situation isn't as bad as you thought and just requires more thought from us to get through.

Again, excellent advice. I besides a picture of my family at my des****ep these quotes posted at my des (they help me keep some perspective on whats important):
-- I am never beat until I quit trying
-- There ar dozens of rules for success; none of them wor****il you do.
-- Success only comes before work in the dictionary
-- Success = 1% inspiration + 99% perspiration
-- The happiest people don't have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything they have.
-- The Lord does not ask about our ability or inability, but only our availability; and if we prove our dependability, the Lord will take care of our capability.
You are right - we should never give up - especially on this WLS journey and all we fought for to get to where we are! When I hear people giving up I so want to help them figure out what is wrong so they can fix it and get back to the mind set that they had in the beginning that got them through....
Great post Miss Wrecker lololol!
