kinda freaking out

So tomorrow is my final appointment with my surgeon, Dr. Bautista and here I sit, freaking out, having bits of crying spells and worrying to death.  I am so afraid that when I go there tomorrow, he will either cancel or want to reschedule my surgery.  I admit, when I first started this liquid diet, I did have a salad for the first day or 2 instead of just a shake.  I am worried that maybe I haven't lost enough weight as of now, which is 5 lbs, even though I have another week of the liquid pre op diet before my surgery.  I also worry that there was something wrong with my blood work when I had it done 2 weeks ago, since it was just 4-6 weeks ago that I was in the hospital.  Once I am leaving his office knowing is going to stop April 30, I will be so much better.  Although, then...  I will ONLY have my surgery itself to worry about.  Thanks for letting me vent. Hey sweetie - I'm sure you'll be fine! Now, I freely admit that I don't know nothin' about nothin'! But 5 pounds in a week is some serious weight loss, it seems to me. I have no idea if eating a salad is a tragic thing or not - I wouldn't think so, but then it seems when I think things like that I'm always wrong - but you did what you could, which is stop and move ahead with what you had been told to do.

So what's the worst that could happen? He moves your surgery date back? So you wait a couple more weeks? How long have you waited already? Plus, if you have to put it off then maybe you could do it July 2, which is the coolest WLS date there is, and we could be surgery buddies! I'm just saying....

But I'm sure that won't happen and you and Susie will be parting ways very soon Let us know how it goes!

Teresa Stop! Take a deep breath......... and slow down..... what will be will be.... you have no control  over what is going to happen tomorrow  - so just worry about what you can control..... if you had your blood work done two weeks ago I am sure they would have called to tell you by now that there was a problem.  SO we are all wishing you luck tomorrow - and we all went through the same feelings - heck my EKG had an issue four days before surgery but I stil got though it to the date okay.... Hang in there.... tomorrow you will know everything!! And eating a salad or two is not going to make any major difference...... relax! Jackie

Theresa, oh hon my heart goes out to you.  It is perfectly normal to feel like something is going to happen to make the surgery get canceled.  That was one of my worst fears.  You've lost and not gained and that is good.  Also the diet is really to make your liver less fatty.  So I doubt the salads did much harm.  Just keep going with what you know you should be doing.   I think if you had your bloodwork done 2 weeks ago, if there was a problem the nurse would have called you right away.   Call the office and ask them how the bloodwork turned out.   Keep on treadging through the liquid diet they put you on and you will be fine.   (((hugs))) Anna

Hi Theresa...how about stressing over the stuff that deserves that kind of attention?  Honey, as one of the gals mentioned, you've lost FIVE POUNDS IN ONE WEEK!!!!  That is major accomplishment!   Don't waste your precious time on negative energy.  Instead, focus on the positive attention such as this weight loss & the fact that you are committed to finishing out your liquid diet successfully.  Have faith, dear one...& if the date changes, then ok...you'll adjust.  Good luck tomorrow & don't forget to let us know how things turned out.  We're all rooting for you!!

Hugs!
Ann
