Richmonders (and others) - Canal Walk?
Ok, I am posting this at the risk of sounding like a huge dork
....
Has anyone ever done the Canal Walk in Richmond? Does anyone want to? I don't know much about it, because I just moved to Richmond, but I'm always looking for fun things to do that don't involve eating
Anyone interested in giving it a try? It says it's 1.25 miles - I don't know if that's one way or round trip.
I was thinking maybe a Saturday morning or a Sunday afternoon? If you're interested, let me know - reply here, PM me, or send me an email at [email protected] and we'll set it up!

Hey sweetie! Even living right around the corner, I have never been on the Canal Walk, but have wanted too. Maybe after the surgery, we can meet somewhere up there, and talk a stab at it. Of course, you know Cameron will want to come. Once this weight starts coming off, I want to start doing so much. I wanna take Cam to Maymont, since it's been years since I've been there, and the zoo in Amelia. We can always do some picnic lunches. Here's to a great summer!!!
Hugs
I'm up for it! I have yet to do the canal walk since moving here a DECADE ago (how sad is that). I would really love to get together to do more things with the Richmond/local people who are on the boards too. it would be nice if we could get a whole group of us together. :)

I think so, too! I have this vague idea of organizing something fun to do maybe once a month.... you know, random stuff like bowling or going to the science museum and seeing an IMAX show or having a game night or going to a baseball game. I'm such a dork, but there so much out there that I never do b/c I get into a routine of going out to dinner as the only social thing there is to do. I am determined to find others!
That sounds like so much fun. I have my calendar, a bunch of dates for festivals, carnivals and things like that that I want to do this year since I will actually be able to do them. I know one big one for me is the Tomato Festival in July. Not sure if you know but there is a tomato called the Hanover Tomato and the county I live in praises it once a summer. And you say you are a dork! Ha!! We have a few others too. And funny you mention the baseball game. I am buying tickets for Cam for is birtnday for a Richmond Braves game since this is their last year here. Blah! But you know that if us girls start planning things, since Cam is such a flirt, he's gonna want to be right there with us!!! He is really smitten with you & Lauren!! I think we are all going to have a GREAT summer!!!
Oh please...where I grew up, there's a garlic festival! And almost every year of my life I have cooked pancakes at the maple sugar festival, so a tomato festival seems perfectly normal to me :) Those things definitely sound like fun - we need to be taking advantage of all of this excitement going on around us!
