Richmonders (and others) - Canal Walk?

I have thought the same thing!  To be a coordinator of a regular monthly meet up or something like that.  Actual activities sound great, but don't be intimidated by eating out too, that's also fun to do.  We just eat differenly post-surgery.  I found it incredibly comforting to eat with other WLS patients after surgery, mainly because I knew they weren't all checking out what I was doing (slow eating, no drinking, small portions, etc) because we were all in the same boat.  :)

Sarah,

Is this an *unofficial* walk?  Just wanna walk the canal in Richmond?  On no exact day?  The only reason I ask is because I will be spending LOTS of time with my parents in the months of June and July, and they are only about an hour from there......not the biggest distance to get some excersice in (which I need desperately!) So let me know if this is an open invitation for the future......sounds like fun!!

Hi, Cappy - That is exactly what it is!  I'm hoping to do it soon, but if you want to do it this summer I'm definitely up for doing it again.  I'm a teacher, so I'm off for the summer so I'll have a pretty flexible schedule (well, except I am doing this surgery thing.... ;) ) so anytime you need to "get out" from  your parents, let me know.  I'm always up for getting out and doing something! Sarah: Love your idea and I'm in. The canal walk sounds great, as does the thought of trying to do something fun every month. I know all about your garlic and maple syrup fests - we don't have those here of course but we do have some other cool stuff to do. Glad you're here with these great ideas! BJ
