Hi Friends,

Healing from hernia surgery continues...two and a half weeks out. Bending and  moving around are getting easier. Today I was able to hoe my garden and plant some seeds! In a little mover a week I should be back to work. My appetite has been low, which I am thankful for. I do get tired easily. Have follow-up with surgeon on May 1st. Thank you for the support these past few weeks. Being home can get a bit lonely, but coming here to read; send a message and to keep connected has really helped. Love and peace to all! Cindy

Hi Tam,    Best of luck to you when u have tt and hernia repair. Do you have a surgical date? I wanted a tt, but insurance would not cover it. Glad to have hernia repaired...having much trouble with it. Cindy

We can heal together, Cindy...even though we had different surgeries, we had ours at about the same time.  What kind of seeds did you plant...veggies or flowies??  I'm hoping to get some major yard work done tomorrow before this weekend's rain**** again.  Gotta get one of my guys to till my veggie bed so I can get stuff growing.  I'm going to make one last attempt at corn this year.  I think I'm gonna have a good batch of peaches & hopefully my little apple tree will bear more than a dozen apples.  I also have 2 pineapple plants growing.  I babied them all through the winter & have now hardened them to the outdoors.  With continued care, I should have fruit next summer!  Both were started from store bought pineapples!  Anyway, I hope you continue to heal without incident.

Hugs!
Ann

Hi Ann,    Hope that your healing goes well. What kind of surgery did you have? Wow, you have so much fruit planted. Love peaches and apples right from the tree. Will the pineapple plants bear fruit?    For me, just planted black-eyed susan seeds and cosmos seeds. Also going to plant sunflower seeds. My glads are coming up and the pansies are slowly dieing. The pansies reseed themselves, which is pretty neat. Where is Middletown, Virginia? Hope that you healing goes well, also!!!  Cindy

I had defibrillator implant replacement.  The wound has healed nicely but I've got some swelling & inflamation around the device so I'm still whacked out on my pain meds.  I'll be glad when I'm completely healed...this has really limited my movement & I miss my work outs.  As for the gardening stuff, this will be the 2nd year that my 2 little fruit trees actually bear fruit...I'm so excited.  The pineapple plants should bear fruit next summer.  I started them at the beginning of last summer & it usually takes 2 years for the plant to mature enough.  Hmmm...now that I think about it, I should start 2 more this year.  If you or anyone else would be interested, I'd be happy to explain how to start your own.  My glads aren't even up yet, but my irises are looking great.  Can't wait for them to bloom.  In the meantime, my lilac bush is blooming & it smells divine...think I'll cut some to put in a vase for my living room.  I have 5 different rose bushes that are leafing up nicely & my wild roses should be blooming soon.  I have lots of plans for my many flower beds, not to mention what I plan for veggies this year.  You asked where Middletown is...I'm right where I-66 & I-81 come together...Shenandoah Valley.  It's just lovely here.  I hope you are back to normal soon.  Take care, Sweetie!

Hugs!

Glad to hear it is getting better.  Just keep resting & doing what you need to do and you will be back to normal in no time.

Hey Cindy, glad to hear you are moving around easier.  Are you doing a flower garden or a vegetable garden?

Hi Lelia,     Thank you for your support. It was nice to meet you at the Meet and Greet in Charlottesville.    Planted flower seeds....black-eyed susans, cosmos and susflower seeds. Would like to plant a tree in my yard...not sure what kind.    Just can't seem to get my energy level up following the surgery.  HAve a great evening! Cindy
