Here is a GREAT opportunity for us at the beach to get together and do something good for ourselves AND someone else. Lee's Friends is an organization that provides assistance to cancer patients.  Things like a ride to chemo.  The simple stuff, along with emotional support to the patient and their family. There is nothing in the rule book that says that you cannot walk this.  It's 3.25 miles and it's a GREAT walk.  I, however, will be running it with my hubby, son, and possibly my sisters (ok...outrunning them - haha). Blair and his son are looking at running it too (they are a couple of characters, so it will be a GREAT time). The course starts in front of the zoo and goes out to the neighborhood next to the zoo.  The neighbors come out and cheer us on...lots of fun.  It ends at the front entrance to the zoo.  And the festivities are inside of the zoo. RIGHT ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm DEFINATELY signing up!!! Something to think about for you and your son....... There is a mud run coming up on August 9th.  Patrick and I have been wanting to do it all year and now that the date is set...we are in planning mode. It's an 8K run in mud, sand, water and climbing over stuff......It's GREAT fun.  I'm saving an aold pair of Nikes for the event.  But, it's held at the Amphib base if you guys are interested.... website:  http://www.asymcamudrun.com/ This will be my last "formal" event before the 1/2 marathon so I plan to go and really have fun.....
