Be a little self-centered.

With WLS, to become a little self-centered is a healthy survival mechanism. You need to meet your needs on a very specific basis and must schedule the rest of life around those needs as best you can.

It's easy to allow other things to take precedence over your WLS needs. But, please be firm with yourself on this. It's very common to want to put others first, but you risk permanent health complications when you do things like put off taking vitamins or delay getting your lab work done.

Action for the day: If your post-WLS health regimen is lacking, make it your mission to find out why. Is it because you're putting everyone else's needs before your own?
