Just some info from the local Manassas Gal.  The Golden Corral was mentioned.  Yes it is about a 25 mile drive from Ashburn to Manassas (it will be at rush hour time here in NOVA.)  The Golden Corral is right off of the highway so it is very easy to get too.  Pretty big facility, food was good when I last went there.  Not sure on anything else.  It would be a bit of a drive.  I hope something gets figured out though because I am dying to see everyone on Saturday!!!!!

Not sure if this would work or not for but my best friend's wife is a manager at the Chili's in Reston. Not right next door to Ashburn (I could map it, but I think it is 6 or 7 miles away, either via Rt. 7 or the toll road) BUT, I just got off the phone with him, and he says that they COULD seat 35 (I estimated on the high side) together, in the same area, but we'd have to start planning (meaning I'd have to call her with a head count, etc) by tonight, or at the LATEST, tomorrow night.  I have only been to this restaurant a couple of times, but it does not seem to really be all that crowded, and I think if we were to go earlier or later, that would just increase the chance of us all sitting together. Also, everyone has been to Chili's or at least knows of it, and there should be appropriate food for anyone from preops to new postops to people farther out. He did mention that we needed to decide now how the checks would be split up (he says that there is nothing worse than having a huge party (he used to be a waiter/bartender himself) and then having to divide up a gigantic check 35 ways at the end of the night. He said it can only ruin your night to have to wait an hour for your check. Whoever is planning -- let me know what to do here. Thanks! Julie PS: I am still looking for a spare ticket for the conference!

Julie -bite their hand off!! Yes yes yes please go ahead and book it - we can all get something to eat at Chilis and we can sort something out about the check to make it easier for the poor waiters or waitresses... Unless anyone has any major objections I think Julie should go ahead and get it  Julie - thank you - thank you - thank you!!!! - Can you let us know when it is all done so we are secure and I can contact Cathy to let her know?... Okay, it seems like everyone is into the Chili's idea, so I will go ahead and set that up. Claire doesn't wor****il later on this evening, and I was told to call at about 8pm if it was decided that we wanted to go there. I am going to set this up for 40 people (like I told Jackie in a separate email, just to cover in case extra people show up), and I'll have them divide the checks up by table. Is there anything else I need to ask, or any other ideas of what we might need? Once I've talked to Claire, I will post again with time (Prissy said 6pm, is that agreeable, or since the conference ends at 5pm, do people want more time between that and the dinner?) and directions from the conference, etc. I've only ATTENDED one or two dinners in my day, much less set one up, so any input you have would be fantastic. Thanks! Julie

If Chili's doesn't work out my friend just suggested Swee****er in Sterling, it's about 10 minutes from Ashburn and and AWESOME place.  It's kind of pubish, but it has two separate areas one that is outdoors mainly and then a huge indoor area.  Just throwing the ideas out! haha
