Prioritize, prioritize, prioritize.

We need to eat. We need to bathe. We need to sleep. We need to pay bills and run errands. And then, WLS brings even more needs into our lives--like taking vitamins and protein supplements,  exercising, and getting lab work done. These things are not really choices for WLS patients, they are priorities. Do you put off the things you need to be doing?

The greatest excuse of the procrastinator is, "I forgot." When you write down your needs and refer to the list often, you can't forget. Maybe what you really mean is, "I don't want to." The best response to that is, "You have to. This is not a choice. I can make you do it." Allow your inner parent to say this to the child inside you who is rebelling.

Action for the day: Are you rebelling? In your journal, make a list of the things you need to do--the things that, in all honesty, are not optional. Use your new list as a checklist to motivate you.
