Melinda, great minds think alike !  I was just sitting here watching the devistation. I got a call yesterday from Amy ( My daughter ) her boys were held at school and made to go into ( Tornado  Mode ) She was petrified . The school is on the Prince George - Suffolk border. I spent the entire evening on the phone waiting on them to call me . All is good , but the area down there is devistated. 10 tornadoes - 3 touched down in Sufflolk and 1 in Colonial Heights.  I am thinking about going down to help out the Red Cross. I volunteered there many years ago when the Tornadoe hit the Walmart there .  The most devistated area is Suffolk. Many homes lost.  Maybe donating clothes or baby items would help ?  You may want to go to your local Red Cross to see where you can send items.  The Govenor is scheduled to arrive there today. I am anxious to see how they handle this . Those people had no warning , and will need help NOW not later.  The weird thing , is that I was just there Sunday. We had Alan's birthday party in Colonial Heights and my girlfriend and I were shopping at the Target and Walmart that were hit. I find it very haunting .  I hope that the agencies respond fast for these people .  Nat

Natalie Im glad to here your grandchildren and daughter are safe. I had forgotten you were from that area. Wow things were tore up pretty bad I just seen the shot on the Today show. I just pray all that was lost was material and not lives. You are right we should all contact our Red crosses and see what and where we should make our donations. It always blows my mind how one side of a street is devistated and another side not touched and they showed that.  Well keep us updated on the news of the Govenor I have a all day appointment and let your daughter know as well if there is anything we can do I hope we can all pull together at this time of need, its very sad. And  tell Alan Happy belated birthday.

Natalie -

I am happy to hear that yours made it though without harm.  I hope that each member of the board finds it in their heart to help out the Red cross by donating at least $5.00.  They really need money right now to get the things that people need. Thank you again for your kind words.  They were comforting in my time of need.

You know what is so great about everyone here , is we are so much like family . Think about it , we have issues with sisters , brothers - Moms- Dads... but we still love them and care . And from my heart I tell you that is how I see these people here . If it where not for you , Jackie , JoAnn , Melinda , Kat and countless others, I swear my spirits would have died when I lost my Mom , and when I was in the hospital after my surgery .  I never told anyone , but when I was at NIH- I recieved 156 cards. Even the lurkers sent cards, I was getting cards from people I had never even heard of . Was really uplifting . And it humbled me unlike anything ever. We must never forget , that we all are human , and there is nothing better than the love for your fellow humans.  And yes, if you all can contact your local Red Cross and donate . Specify that you want it to go down to Suffolk and Colonial Heights. They will honor that for you .  They are going to need it .
